Hi everyone.
This was supposed to come out sooner, but I've been pretty busy with some stuff; I haven't been able to work on anything else, but if my schedule clears up, the Forgotten Memories reboot will come out eventually. Fingers crossed I'll get a break.
Also, sorry if this chapter seems a bit clunky. Normally I do a lot more proofreading and polishing than I did here, but I didn't have the time to do that. Don't worry, it's not unreadable or anything like that, but if there are a few grammar mistakes, you'll know why.
Anyway, enjoy.
After careful consideration, Skye decided that it was best to explore the area around them. Leaving now to search for Everest's group was too dangerous, as it was likely patrolling the path they had just got off of, and staying in one spot and barricading the cabin would only delay the wolf from getting to them at best. At least if they explored now, they could potentially find something useful and get to know the area better.
"I-I think we should go explore the area," Skye said, nodding after making her choice. "Going looking for the others now means we'll probably run into... you know what... and staying in one spot for too long will make us sitting ducks."
"Sounds good to me than," Zuma replied, stretching his legs and yawning. "Let's just hope that thing doesn't find us while we're out there."
Skye had an uneasy feeling as she and Zuma both walked in silence and took in their surroundings. Although she noticed the quiet and still nature of the park when she first entered, the lack of noise or signs of life besides plants and the wolf was beginning to destroy what little sanity she had left. It made her feel like that along with Zuma, they were the only two souls left in the park; and considering the events that took place earlier that caused them to be here in the first place, there may have been some truth to that statement... well, besides the giant monstrous wolf chasing them down, that is.
"Seems like people liked to camp here, huh?" Zuma said, passing several campsites filled with tents and other kinds of gear they found at the cabin. "I thought that the cabin had an excessive amount of camping gear but geez... if we took even a fraction of this stuff home with us, we'd be set for life on tents!"
"Yeah, too bad none of them appear to have anything useful. Not like we'll need expired marshmallows or anything."
"Ugh, don't even say anything about that to Rubble. I don't even want to imagine how fast he would shove those down his throat, expired or not."
Skye couldn't help but let out a quiet laugh at Zuma's quip. It seemed as if Zuma was doing somewhat better, though she could tell that he was trying to hide how much pain he was in to her. She considered the idea of talking to Zuma about it now, but before she could come to that decision, she spotted something in her peripheral vision.
"Hey, I think I see something."
"Huh? Where?" Zuma asked, snapping his head from the ground.
"On our right," Skye replied, pointing her paw in that direction. "I think it's a stage, but there's something else next to it. Can't make out what it is." Zuma squinted his eyes to where Skye had pointed, curious to know what the mysterious object was that Skye couldn't make out. When he realized what it was, his eyes widened in confusion and excitement.
