Early Wednesday morning, a sleepy brown-haired boy rolled out of his bunk at the Hope Rehabilitation Center, put on some sliders, slapped water on his face, and still in pajamas, groggily made his way out the room and down the hallway, to the elevator to go down to the dining hall like he did every other morning.
He grabbed a tray and got in the line that didn't have that many people yet, so he was able to get his soup and some omelets pretty quickly.
He thanked God for his food in a quick prayer like he was taught to at the school he attended here and was about to dive into his breakfast when the headman's voice suddenly boomed over the dining hall speaker.
Jisung and everyone else in the hall immediately raised their heads and froze, every soul waiting for and hoping that the name(s) called wasn't theirs.
So when the name "PARK JISUNG" was loudly spoken, the tall boy sat up straight, eyes wide, pointing to himself in disbelief even though he wasn't talking to anyone.
What could he have done wrong?
Jisungie slowly got up, shaking his head, still unbelieving. He touched his hair subconsciously as he always did when he was confused or feeling awkward and made his way past the lobby to where the headman's office was.
"Why good morning, Jisungie," the lady at the front desk said with a sweet smile to the boy who was well-liked around here. Jisung tried returning the smile but it wasn't that easy when he thought he'd just gotten in trouble. He gave a little peek into the office window before hesitantly turning the knob and stepping in.
He was almost barreled over by a seemingly untamed human who aggressively lunged at him in a savage hug, squeezing him tight. "JISUNGIEEE" the animal squealed through clenched teeth.
"Omo-" Jisung grabbed onto his Jaemin-hyung whom he hadn't recognized at first because of his changed hair color. "H-hyung?"
"Yes," Jaemin said promptly as he straightened himself back up. "Are you glad to see me, Jisungie?" And he pinched the younger boy's cheeks affectionately.
"Yes, yes hyung, okay," Jisung said hurriedly and tried to politely remove his hyung's hand as he gave a quick glance at the headmaster in embarrassment. The man chuckled in return.
"I'll be with you for two weeks," Jaemin patted Jisung's head.
"Two weeks-! Why-" Jisungie said with a childish curiosity on his face.
"Because I love you, that's why," Jaemin cooed.
Jisung scratched his head in embarrassment. He'd rather not ask more questions now, in front of other people. But he could definitely tell from Jaemin's looks now that quite a lot had happened since Jisung had been sent here.
"Jisungie, I've also called some time off for you," Jaemin unveiled his even bigger surprise. "I wanted to take you to see someone."
"Wh-who?" the younger's mouth formed an "o". "Jeno?" was his first guess.
A little thorn pricked into Jaemin's side hearing his ex's name come from his dongsaeng's mouth. But he just shook his head, a smile still hanging lightly on his lips. "Wrong, guess again!"
"I don't know," Jisung said wearily.
Jaemin's eyes danced with excitement as he leaned in closer to his brother's ear to reveal who exactly they would see.
