MELOKUHLE'S POV
As I walked into school with Nkosenye as he had to sign my registration for me , the familiar sounds of chatter and laughter enveloped me. I spotted Amanhle and Liyana by their lockers, looking like they owned the place. Amanhle's bright smile and infectious laugh drew me in, and I couldn't help but grin. Liyana, on the other hand, stood with her usual quiet confidence, her eyes sparkling with creativity.
I quickened my pace, excited to see my friends. We exchanged warm hugs and greetings, and Amahle launched into the latest gossip. "Girl, you won't believe what happened between Sipho and Nontle..." Liyana listened intently, nodding along, while I tried to catch up on the drama.
As we finished our conversation with Amahle and Liyana, Nkosenye glanced at his watch. "Time for me to head out, Marchmellow. Got a meeting I need to get to." I didn't even realise that he hasn't left yet ....perks of having a talkative friend
I nodded, and we shared a quick hug. But before I could pull away, Nkosenye grasped my shoulders and turned me back to face him.
Nkosenye :"Hey, where's my kiss?" he asked, a mischievous glint in his eye.I rolled my eyes good-naturedly. Me :"Nkosenye, stop it!"
But he just chuckled and leaned in, his cheek inches from mine. I couldn't help but laugh and give in, planting a quick peck on his cheek.
Me :"Later, bro!" I said, trying to sound exasperated.
Nkosenye grinned, satisfied.
Nkosenye: "Try to stay out of trouble today, okay?" What does he mean by that I never cause trouble but anyway playing along is key .I playfully pushed him away. "I'll try my best."
He chuckled and headed off towards his car. I watched him go.
Nkosenye:"See you later, Mellow!" he called out over his shoulder.
Me :"Later, bro!"
Then, I turned back to Amanhle and Liyana, and we continued our conversation.
After our conversation we had to head to our classes ....yes we are in different classes except for when we are in English and Afrikaans at the same time
I do pure math with all the sciences ....I know right our future doctor Bhengu
uAmahle does math lit with history as she wants to be a lawyer
And with uLiyana it's very confusing as she does math lit with accounting and visual arts which is very complicating but haiii ke sana that's not our problem to worry about
.....
As I'm about to head to class I realise that I left my spectacles in my locker (I only wear them when I'm in class ) which means imma be 15 minutes late for class meaning that I still have to go to the office to get a late cardI trudged back to my locker, annoyed with myself for forgetting my glasses. As I approached, I saw Ntsikayomuzi (aggghhh ) leaning against the adjacent locker, his eyes fixed on me with a smirk.
I ignored him, focusing on grabbing my glasses from my locker. But I could feel his gaze on me, and it made my skin prickle with irritation.
Me :"What do you want, Ntsika?" I asked curtly, not bothering to look at him.
Ntsika:"Just enjoying the view," he replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Me:" Enjoying the view....next to my locker"
Ntsika:" No, next to the bin "
I rolled my eyes and slammed my locker shut, ready to head to the office for a late card. Ntsikayomuzi pushed off from the locker, his eyes never leaving mine.
I quickened my pace, trying to get away from Ntsikayomuzi's annoying gaze. But he fell into step beside me, his long strides matching mine.
Ntsika: "Late again, Melokuhle?" he said, his voice dripping with condescension. "You really need to work on that."
I gritted my teeth, trying not to rise to his bait.
Me: "Mind your own business, Ntsika."We walked in silence for a few moments, the tension between us palpable. I could feel his eyes on me, but I refused to look at him.
As we approached the office, Ntsikayomuzi suddenly spoke up....again.
Ntsika: "Hey, Melokuhle?"
I turned to him, my expression wary. Me :"What?"
A sly grin spread across his face.
Ntsika :"Maybe I'll see you around."With that, he turned and walked away, leaving me feeling frustrated and uneasy.
I shook my head and entered the office, ready to face the consequences of my tardiness. But I couldn't shake off the feeling that Ntsikayomuzi's parting words held a hidden meaning.
I pushed aside the unsettling feeling and focused on getting my late card. As I waited in line, I couldn't help but think about Ntsikayomuzi's strange behavior. What did he mean by "maybe I'll see you around"? Was he implying something?
I shook my head, chiding myself for reading too much into it. Ntsikayomuzi and I had never gotten along, and I shouldn't expect anything different now.
When it was finally my turn, I approached the office staff and explained my situation. They handed me a late card with a stern warning, which I accepted with a nod.
As I left the office, I spotted Ntsikayomuzi across the hallway, leaning against a locker and watching me. His eyes seemed to bore into mine, and I felt a shiver run down my spine.
I quickly looked away, trying to brush off the feeling. But I could sense his gaze lingering on me, making my skin prickle with unease.
I hurried to class, eager to put the encounter behind me. But the memory of Ntsikayomuzi's piercing stare lingered, leaving me with a sense of foreboding.
The rest of the periods went by in a flesh and before I could even notice it was BREAK !!!!!
