"Girls, wake up! It's your special day!" Aunt Nolu chimed.
Smelo stirred effortlessly, stretching her arms above her head. "Good morning, Mom."
I, on the other hand, felt like I'd been hit by a truck. My brain foggy, my body heavy. I buried my face in the pillow, willing myself back to sleep.
Smelo giggled, shaking me playfully. "Wake up, sleepyhead! It's our birthday!" She pulled back the covers, letting in a rush of chilly air. This girl practices witchcraft cause she slept after me yohh.
I sat up with a jolt, rubbing my eyes. "Ugh, what time is it?"
Smelo beamed. "Almost eight! Come on, Melo, rise and shine!"
We looked at each other as reality dawned, excitement coursed through my veins. "It's our birthday!" we squealed.
Smelo and I jumped out of bed. We dashed to the bathroom, deciding to take a shower together, we then wrapped ourselves in plush robes and went downstairs to eat.
By 8:30 a.m., we rushed back upstairs to get ready. I wore a hot pink Tube Tulle top cut out hidden back Braelynn Jumpsuit and nude heels.
Smelo wore hot pink Satin Cargo trousers and sparkle star mash top and also paired with nude heels.
Just as Smelo and I finished our final touches, a knock at the door broke the silence.
"Come in!" we chimed in unison.
The door swung open, and Amanhle , breezed in.
"Happy birthday, dolls!" Her exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. She began singing the iconic "Happy Birthday" tune.
Smelo and I exchanged gleeful glances, feeling like royalty.
Amanhle's eyes widened as she took in our transformed looks. "Look how beautiful you both are!" she cooed.
Smelo struck a pose, and I twirled
Amanhle's gaze landed on me, curiosity piqued. "And then wena, why so glowy?"
