I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring in my ear at 9:30 am. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and began my morning routine. After brushing my teeth, washing my face, and taking a refreshing shower, I got dressed and headed downstairs.
As I entered the kitchen, I saw that everyone was already finished with breakfast. My mom was busy washing dishes, and I greeted her with a kiss on the cheek. "Good morning, Ma."
My mom smiled and replied, "Good morning, Nana."
I went to the top cupboard, pulled out a bowl, and poured myself some muesli. I added yoghurt from the fridge and sat on the counter to eat. My mom glanced at me but continued washing dishes. After finishing my breakfast, I washed my bowl because my mom was already done with the dishes and was already in the lounge watching netflix and when I was about to wipe it dry Siri interrupted, announcing that Babe was calling. I rolled my eyes, saying, "Yohhh, I should remove this feature."
I answered the call, and Ntsika's voice was on the other end. "Bae," I said, smiling.
"I'm outside," Ntsika replied.
I glanced at my watch. "Give me a few minutes; I need to tell my dad I'm leaving."
Ntsika agreed and disconnected the call. I headed upstairs to the study, knocked on the door, and entered when my dad said, "Ngena."
"Baba, I'm leaving," I said.
My dad looked up from his work. "When you arrive at the mall, text me."
I nodded. "Okay, lemme love and leave you ke."
My dad smiled and replied, "Bye."
I went to hug my dad and then headed to the kitchen to grab my things. As I passed the living room, I went to hug my mom from behind, kissing her all over her cheek.
My mom pulled me around to face her, kissing me all over my face. I laughed, saying, "No, mahn, I'm not a baby anymore."
My mom smiled. "You'll always be my baby."
I smiled, saying, ". Let me go now, Ntsika's been waiting for more than 10 minutes, I love you neh."
My mom replied, "I love you too."
I rushed outside and saw Ntsika waiting for me. He was leaning against his car, looking handsome as ever. I smiled, feeling my heart skip a beat. We actually decided that we are gonna twin or something close, you know couple goals shit and stuff. He was wearing two colour shaded jeans and an oversized graphic black t-shirt and white sneakers.
