chapter 3

Rosie

So far Rosie's day had been painfully and excruciatingly boring... then Archie showed up.

Rosie was heading to break late due to being sent to the principal's office because her teacher (Mrs Dray) was an incompetent, stupid, cow. During second period two numb skulls (Bill Jones and Fred Fix ) had been throwing bits of paper and ripped up rubbers at Rosie, she ignored them for a while but today was a bad day already being the year anniversary of when he disappeared. Also Rosie has ADHD so when the ball of wet paper hit her in the face that was the last straw . She jumped up out of her desk Rage rising through her. The class went silent apart from Bill and Fred's smirks, Rosie wanted to scream. She turned and Grabbed her 600 paged text book and lobed it at Fred's Head, "SMACK!" the impact sent him tumbling to the floor. Bill's face was in shock, then he burst out in laughter at his crumpled friend until an 800 paged hard back dictionary smashed into his thick skull, sending him tumbling off his chair too.

"What... not funny anymore?"Rosie mocked.

The two boys lay on the floor groaning whilst the rest of the class sat there in shock. Rosie turned back around and saw Mrs Drays face, it was confused and in shock too. The two of them stood for about five seconds just staring at each other. Then, Mrs Dray said with a slow angry voice, "The principal's office...NOW!"

When you enter the principal's office, the first thing you notice isn't nice furniture or a well organised desk with pencils placed neatly in a row, instead the first thing you notice are the fighting trophy's scattered across the small room. Then the large baseball bat leaning casually against the tree stump looking desk with a gold and wood plaque resting on top, with the words "Principal Hedge" engraved across the plank.

Rosie hadn't been to the new principal's office as he had only been the schools head master for a few weeks but her previous principal's office she might as well had lived there. Whether it was for being in a fight or being blamed for something she didn't do which happened to her frequently.

When Rosie entered the office she found it odd but it was a lot cooler than the last office, well anything is better than old red leather chairs and a rotting desk. Then she saw the principal and wanted to laugh. Behind the tree stump desk sat a small middle-aged man with a wispy goatee and a strong, hard face. He wore a nice black suit but the reason she wanted to laugh was because instead of a smart shirt he wore a blue, grey and white New York Yankees t shirt and a baseball cap pulled low over his hair so you could just make out his beady eyes.

"Ahh, Miss Flame "he said with a cheerful and husky voice.

Rosie found it unusual that he knew her surname already and she was not used to people addressing her by it, but she figured she had a reputation from her countless meetings with her last principle.

''Principal Hedge "she replied sarcastically

"Please... call me coach "he laughed.
