charlie woke up abruptly, her eyes rising open as she heard a hum and smelled... bacon? "riley..?" charlie groggily asked, being greeted with a kiss on the cheek and a cheery riley. "hi! good morning to you, i made bacon and pancakes with blueberries" riley pointed to the plate she was holding, smiling brightly. "thanks baby" charlie kissed Riley's cheek and sat up, grabbing the plate.
riley put on some music, lana del rey. she hummed softly to the songs, creating a background symphony that charlie could get lost in. charlie looked over to riley, who was dancing dramatically to the music, swaying her body to the beat.
"yeah, riley! go girl!" charlie chuckled and pulled out her phone, recording the moment. riley laughed gently, and flopped on her bed, puffed out. "did you like my dance?" riley asked, looking up at charlie. "it was beautiful" charlie admitted, walking over to Riley's bed and stroking her hair. "you have such pretty blue hair." charlie told riley, smiling while she ran her fingers through Riley's hair.
"i need to re dye it, my natural hair is coming through." riley said quietly. "whats your natural hair colour?" charlie asked curiously. "I'm a natural blonde, but i dyed it a horrid pink at 10, then i got blue highlights and then i just dyed it this blue a couple months back, a couple of weeks before we met- i think." riley explained carefully, using her hands to talk aswell.
"i wish we met when we were younger,." charlie wished, looking up, still with her hands in Riley's hair. "me too.. wanna watch a movie?" riley asked, smiling. "of course! ill set up and choose a movie, you make the snacks." charlie gleefully suggested. riley got up and kissed charlie on the lips, catching her off guard. "okay my love" riley brushed her hand against Charlie's skin.
charlie got up, following Riley's steps, pushing the beds together and putting their blankets on top, grabbing an extra fuzzy one from the cupboard. charlie fluffed the pillows up, 2 basic flat ones, 2 fluffy lap pillows and the bears they made. she went over to the curtains, pulling them shut and turning on a small lamp and lighting a candle for dim light.
right as charlie finished setting up the room, the microwave dinged and riley pulled out the popcorn, bringing the m&ms, popcorn which was lightly salted, warm chocolate drinks and chocolate covered strawberries. "thank you" charlie said, sitting down on the bed and bringing the pocorn bowl down to the middle of them. "no need to thank me, you practically did all the work" riley said, sitting herself next to charlie and putting her arm around charlie.
riley grabbed the remote and turned on the tv, the lamp creating a dim light, and the candle a comforting crackle. "what movie?" riley asked, looking across to charlie who was a little further down the bed, resting on her lap. "hmm.. how about, 'but im a cheerleader'? (RAHHH the gay movie 😼) that's a good movie" charlie suggested, looking up at Riley, making eye contact with her deep blue eyes.
riley nodded in approval and turned the movie on, grabbing her drink and sipping it lightly. the light from the tv shone in their faces, rileys hand lightly rubbing charlies shoulder as the warmth of the room complimented the noticable snell of popcorn and cocoa.
they contently watched the movie, and each scene that displayed infront of them made charlie ache more and more for peace within herself, like the characters were able to have. charlie grabbed an m&m and flicked it at riley abruptly, "oi!" riley defensively pouted, rubbing her hand over charlies face.
the movie ended after a while, the sunset growing close. "what do you want to do now?" charlie asked curiously. "we could paint our nails?" riley suggested, pulling out black nail polish. "good idea.. are you good at painting nails-" charlie asked, before being cut off by a finger on her lips, "hush, let the pro do it" riley shushed charlie and openedthe nail polish, grabbing Charlie's hand and shakily painting her thumb, getting nail polish everywhere.
"you suck at this!" charlie laughed at riley who was sticking her tongue out and painting her pinky on the last hand. "nuh uh! im a pro" riley corrected charlie and they both laughed, holding hands riley blew on Charlie's nails as an attempt to dry them quicker. riley looked up into Charlie's deep eyes, smiling at her reflection, she only saw beauty in charlie, and in beauty, she saw charlie.
the corners of her mouth pricked up as riley hugged charlie, kindling more emotion. charlie giggled and rested her hands on riley's. she stayed silent, and heard the familiar trickle of rain, she looked over to riley who mustve had the same idea, due to the noticable twinkle that lit up her eyes. charlie grabbed Riley's hands, and ran out of the door, down the stairs and out the door, all while giggling like little kids, in most ways, riley made charlie feel like a little kid, but in a good way.
the two ran down the street, finding an empty alley and being drenched in rain, riley tightened her grip on Charlie's hand and spun her around, dancing freely, riley smiled brightly and grabbed hold of Charlie's waist, dipping her back. "oh my god- riley!" charlie worriedly exclaimed, giggling when she got brought back up, almost as a signification of relief. riley brought their lips together, the rain dripping down their faces and making their hair stick to themselves, riley moved one hand to Charlie's face, rubbing her cheek gently with one thumb, separating them for air, charlie locked eyes with riley, an electric spark igniting the two's feelings.
riley grabbed ahold of Charlie's hands and spun around, still locking eyes with eachother, charlie giggled and tilted her head back to let the rain fall onto her face. riley interlocked their fingers and put her left hand onto charlies hip, charlie putting one hand on Riley's shoulder and locking her hand with Riley's. "i- i dont know how to dance" charlie shyly confessed. "its okay, just match my steps." riley reassured and stepped forwards, charlie stepping backwards, then to the side, and forwards, creating a box pattern with their feet, charlie looked down, thinking she would slip.
riley took her hand off Charlie's hip and lightly lifted her chin, making contact with her lips, the rain making a salty appearance on their lips. charlie unhooked her fingers from Riley's, and put her hands over rileys shoulders, her elbows resting in a straight angle on Riley's shoudler. (the only straight thing about her i swear) riley brought her wet hands to charlies face, cupping her chin and cheek as they let go from the kiss, looking into eachothers eyes, the spark from when they first met reigniting as if a candle had just been lit. riley hesitantly moved down to charlie's neck to kiss, and felt electricity all through her. and ot was more than evident in charlie too.
Riley lifted off of charlie's neck and panted slightly. the night breeze with the rain created an atmosphere like no other, riley smiled down at charlie, who smiled back, love filling the air. "oi! you cant be here" a stranger yelled, the two scrambling back to the dorm and giggling as they nearly slipped going up the stairs. Charlie sighed and smiled, taking off her shoes and shirt, leaving her in shorts and a bra. "im gonna shower, i got drenched!" charlie swiped her hair off her face and looked over to riley who was tying her hair up.
"alright! im gonna go in after, im soaked! " riley exclaimed, putting her arms out and looking down at her soggy shirt. whining out loud; charlie chuckled at Riley's unnecessary distress and stepped into the bathroom, staring at herself in the bathroom. "oh. my. god." charlie gasped, looking at her neck, where a large hickey was slapped.
"RILEY." charlie yelled, locking eyes with her neck. "yeah? whats u-" Riley asked and looked at the large bruise on Charlie's neck. "oh my god." riley gasped, clasping her hand over her mouth.
charlie giggled at rileys panic and held her hand. "its fine" Charlie smiled up at riley and felt the drip of her clothes on her foot.
"are you sure?" riley asked concerningly. "yes, im sure." charlie grinned and started to push riley out of the room so she could shower, "okay get out i need to shower!" charlie yelled and riley put her hands up, grabbing a towel to dry herself.
maybe she was getting better finally?
or maybe Riley was just being nice.
it didn't matter at the moment to her though.
