Fifty-four

Her phone rang, breaking the silence. Alex rolled over, seeing Riley's name light up the screen. She answered, putting the call on speaker.

"Hello?" Alex's voice was thick with sleep.

"Alex." Riley's voice came through, tinged with urgency. "I couldn't stop thinking about you after the other night. Can you let me in?"

Alex blinked, trying to clear the confusion from her mind. She wasn't sure if she was still dreaming, but Riley's voice pulled her into the present. Unsure of what to say, she squinted, trying to make sense of it.

A surge of adrenaline coursed through her as she moved to unlock the front door, her hand trembling slightly. When she opened it, Riley stood there, his eyes dark with desire, his expression a mixture of conflict and raw hunger. Without waiting for an invitation, he stepped inside, pulling her into him with a force that stole her breath.

Their lips met in an instant, the kiss deep and urgent, a release of everything they had been holding back. Alex melted into Riley's arms, her fingers threading through his hair as she pressed herself against him, feeling the hard lines of his body. Every inch of her skin tingled with anticipation as he lifted her effortlessly, placing her on the kitchen counter. The cold surface sent a shock through her, contrasting deliciously with the heat radiating from him.

Riley's hands were everywhere, exploring her with a need that made her shiver. His lips trailed down her neck, his breath hot against her skin as he nipped at her collarbone, sending jolts of electricity through her. Alex gasped, her nails digging into his shoulders as she arched into him, craving more of his touch.

"One more time, then we go back to manager and client, no strings attached." Riley said pulling away for a second.

Her lips curved into a gentle smile as she leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead. "One more night." She agreed, her voice a tender murmur. "Let's make the most of it."

With a low growl, Riley scooped her up from the counter, his hands gripping her thighs as she wrapped her legs around his waist. He carried her toward the bedroom, their lips never breaking contact, the kiss growing hotter and more desperate with every step. By the time they reached the bed, they were both breathless, their bodies aching with need.

Riley laid her down with a gentleness that belied the intensity in his eyes. He hovered over her, his gaze roaming over her body, taking in the sight of her sprawled beneath him, ready and waiting. Alex's heart pounded as she reached up, pulling his shirt over his head in one swift motion, revealing the chiseled muscles of his chest. She traced the lines of his torso with her fingers, her touch light but insistent, memorizing every ridge and dip.

Riley's hands slid under her shirt, his touch firm and possessive as he lifted it over her head. He took a moment to admire her, his eyes darkening with lust as he let his fingers drift down her sides, over the curve of her waist, before cupping her breasts. Alex moaned softly, her back arching off the bed as he squeezed, his thumbs brushing over her nipples, sending waves of pleasure coursing through her.

His mouth followed the path his hands had taken, his lips and tongue teasing her, tasting her, driving her wild with need. Alex could feel the heat pooling between her legs, the ache growing more intense with every kiss, every touch. She tangled her fingers in his hair, pulling him closer as he moved lower, his kisses trailing down her stomach, leaving a fiery path in their wake.

When he reached the waistband of her shorts, Riley hesitated for a second before hooking his fingers into them and sliding them down her legs. The cool air hit her bare skin, making her shiver, but the sensation was quickly replaced by the heat of Riley's mouth as he kissed the inside of her thighs, inching closer to where she needed him most.
