Isaiah's POV
"You," Dion points in my direction as we walk into my fathers wearhouse. "Downstairs. You," he points back to his daughter. "My office, now!"
Iri immediately shakes her head, "can I please go with him? Your office is so boring."
Dion stays quiet staring in her direction and she immediately begins to beg him before she can hear her least favorite word, no.
"Iridiana, you know you're not allowed down there when he's in trouble. His dad will be back in a couple hours, no."
"Dad, please! Zio Isaac loves me, he'll get over it."
"Iri-"
"Then take me home. I don't want to be bored here," she pouts, crossing her arms.
I watch Dion cross his arms along his chest, matching his daughter's temper tantrum. "You don't think I will?" He arches an eyebrow.
"I know you won't," Iri hisses.
I glance back and forth from my best friend and her dad, attempting to hide the smile on my face. Iridiana always got her way when it came to her dad, always, at least in most cases. One of the many perks she learned from her mother, and being the only child.
I watch Dion stick the back of his pinky into his mouth whistling and turning to look behind him. "Andrade!" He shouts.
He immediately stops what he's doing and is rushing over to us. "Yes sir?"
"Take my daughter home," he says, staring directly at her.
I watch Iri's smile turn into a wide grin as she pulls her phone. I instantly begin to lose my shit when she makes a call, putting it on speaker and her mothers answering the phone a second later.
"Hi, baby, is everything okay?"
Dion narrows his eyes, "do it" he whispers. "Tell her," he mouths.
Iri inhales a deep breath and is rolling her eyes, "can we have enchiladas for dinner tonight mom?"
I snort and shake my head, knowing damn well that she wasn't about to snitch out her dad, she'd be in just as much trouble as he would be for skipping school.
Iridiana's mom was probably just as tough and strict as her dad, if not worse, makes my mom look like a fucking saint, then again my dad makes up for both of her parents.
"Iridiana Reina, you couldn't have just texted me this?!"
"Who knows when you would've seen the message mom! I need to make sure you know asap before you start getting dinner ready."
The line immediately goes dead as her mom hangs up on her and her dad is chuckling softly.
"Don't forget baby, that woman's been my wife a lot longer than she's been your mom. There isn't a side of her that I haven't dealt with yet. I want you up here by 3, before Isaac gets here."
Iri eagerly nods her head and is running in to hug her dad, "thank you," she leans up to kiss him on the lips. "I love you."
Dion hug his daughter before pulling away from her, "work on any homework if you have any, Iridiana."
"Yes sir," she smiles as she walks over to me, waving a hand in front of me. "After you, Mr. Matteo."
I roll my eyes and shake my head and begin to walk ahead of her. We walk up to the door that leads down into my fathers basement and I'm placing my hand on the palm scanner as it scans my hand and unlocks a second later.
