Bonus Chapter Pt. 2

Nathaniel's POV
10 Months Later; Part Two.

I wake up in a sudden panic, instantly inspecting my surroundings and immediately relax when I recognize the same room that I've woken up in countless times. Carmen's bedroom.

My girlfriend however is nowhere to be found, per usual of course. How she sneaks out of bed in the morning I'll never know. I feel the instant she gets up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, yet she always tends to give me the slip every morning.

I slowly begin to stretch my body out and turn over to sit on the edge of the bed, checking the time on my phone that's sitting on her nightstand, instantly ignoring the two missed calls from my cousin.

10:27 am. Fuck me. I'm late, again. Leave it to my girl to let me sleep in, again.

Sleeping over at Carmen's is actually the only way I'll get some decent sleep, I noticed it the first night I stayed over, granted we stayed up until like three in the morning that night talking so we nearly slept over 10 hours the next day. The max sleep I was used to getting a night was five hours, six if I'm lucky.

I unlock my phone texting Isaac back really quick.

"Slept in, sorry, be there in twenty."

Tossing my phone back onto the nightstand I get off of the bed and make my way out of the bedroom to find my girlfriend in the kitchen with some soft music playing in the background as she hums lightly, mixing a bowl of what I can only presume pancake batter is.

I smile at the instant sight of her. She can't see that I've stepped out of the bedroom, her back is towards me. I'm definitely not gonna make any sound and interrupt her morning vibe.

I quietly walk over to her, sneaking my hands around her. I interlock my hands around her stomach, her small baby bump that she's hiding under my oversized t-shirt.

"How are my corazones doing?" I place my face in the crook of her next.

She immediately smiles as she turns to face me, "bien," she drapes her hands over my shoulder, caressing the back of my head. "Sleep good?"

I smile and nod, leaning in to kiss her, "always," I mutter against her lips. "You didn't wake me up."

She shakes her head no, "you were snoring, I didn't want to interrupt your deep sleep."

"I miss this morning's meeting again amor, we're not exactly starting the day good with him. I need him in his bestest mood today."

"All the more reason to not tell him yet," she smiles, leaning in to kiss me on the lips again.

She's referring to me telling Isaac that her and I are dating.

Carmen is 16 weeks pregnant and I really need to start telling my family that we're dating now. My parents know that I'm dating Carmen, they know of her, they know I have a girlfriend, they just haven't exactly met her for the same reasons I'm trying to protect her.

I don't want anything getting back to Isaac without it coming from my own mouth, I want to be the one to tell him everything. So today just so happens to be the day that I'm telling him Carmen and I are dating, and she's pregnant.

I'm more afraid of having to cut my entire family off than telling them we're together. I'm afraid of Isaac having the worst reaction due to the fact of the history they have had with Carmen and his friend.

Carmen and I have only been dating for a little under a year but I want to propose to her already. I actually wanna propose by the end of the year, before she has the baby. I would really like for all my family to be there for the engagement party, but in order for them to be there they have to know about us, they have to accept us.
