Iridiana's POV

"Ms. Ricci, I will not ask you again, please put your phone away." Mr. Teodulo, my chemistry teacher, grumbles annoyingly for what seems to be the fourth time this period.

I look up from Isaiah's message, staring up in Mr. Teodulo's way.

Isaiah didn't pick me up for school this morning like he normally does so he's been texting me giving me updates. My fathers men actually dropped me off at school because Isaiah had something to do and I hated when my dads men did that, they always caused an extra scene.

Isaiah missing school wasn't usual, it's actually weird when he misses, his father rarely ever let him miss because his education was everything.

Unfortunately for him, apparently his dad was still fuming from what happened yesterday and pulled him from school to spend the entire day with him.

Malakai, who's sitting to my right softly nudges my arm with his, "Matteo can wait, Ricci, it's not worth the office trip," he says, reaching for my phone, pulling it out of my hand.

I quickly attempt to reach for my phone the second it leaves my hand but he's moving his hand back even quicker, a stupid smug smile on his face.

"Give me my phone, Kai."

"What are you willing to give me in exchange?" He leans in closer to me.

"How about The Twins?" I smile, lifting my eyebrows.

Kai scoffs and is turning to look in the other direction of the class where Isaac's cousin Irvin just so happens to be sitting. His entire attention is on us, or Malakai I should say, the meanest mug I've ever seen on his face.

Irv sits back in his chair, his stony expression never once easing up. He lifts his right arm up about mid air and is making a fake gun with his fingers, acting as if he's firing it, mouthing 'boom.'

Between Irvin and Xaden, Irvin is definitely the most unhinged twin. Between the three Matteo boys, Irvin is the most compared to his grandfather Carmelo, he has the shortest fuse like him. Xaden is an exact replica of his dad, he definitely has all the Matteo qualities but is the softest of the boys, he's the one who can usually talk his way out of everything.

Isaiah on the other hand, he's exactly like his father. He may have his mothers patience and self control, but when pushed around enough, especially when they bring up his mom, his dad's aggression makes an appearance and it's hard for him to let things go.

He adores his mom just as much as his dad does, they both worship the ground that woman walks on. That's usually what gets him in trouble, the second anytime his mom is being brought up.

Isaiah's actually pretty good at ignoring the shit talking, it's honestly what drives the other people that are messing with him crazy, nothing ever really phases him up until his mom is brought up. He loses his cool the instant it happens and most of the time the The twins are really good at defusing their cousin, other times they're usually egging him on. That's when we're not so lucky, the second the twins realized they fucked up and can't clam their cousin down that's when everyone starts shitting bricks. That's when Isaiah is being taken into the front office and his dad is getting involved and all three boys are dealing with his wrath.

The twins actually worship the ground Isaiah walks on, they're quick to jump in and take any heat off of their cousin if possible, they'll do anything to keep their uncle and grandpa off of Isaiah because he takes most responsibility since he's the oldest.

"Matteo! Giordano! Do we need to go to the principal's office again?" Mr. Teodulo looks back and forth from both boys.

"No sir," Kai grumbles boredly under his breath, handing my phone back over to me.
