Today was the day Dipper and Mabel turn eighteen. Today was a day Dipper was excited for.
Mabel had planned a huge party and invited all their friends from both their hometown and Gravity Falls. Wendy and the gang were staying at a hotel nearby. Mabel refused to tell who she invited.
Since then, a lot had changed. Dipper had stupidly ran to Jane when they got home from Gravity Falls and started spending a lot of time with her. Eventually they even started dating and were to this point in time."Your girlfriend is here!" Dipper sighed as he got up, sharing glances with his sister. She knew how he actually felt about Jane.
"Happy birthday babe!" She wrapped her arms around his neck and he hugged her back. His promise rings shined in the sunlight as he closed the door behind them. On one hand, an older ring with three faded marks lied as through he never took it off. A brand new one was on his left and the engraving clearly said J + D. This one seemed like it was rarely worn.
"Thanks," He said to her, "But you're two hours early," She smiled and he knew she was up to something.
"I thought we might do something before," She responded. Dipper frowned.
"Like what?" She closed the distance between them. Once she broke the kiss, Jane smirked.
"Do you like my idea?" It was tempting to spend the next two hours kissing, but Dipper wasn't going to do that with Mabel nearby.
"I think we should just do something else,"
Their parents were on vacation, realizing that their kids would throw a party. The only rule was that the twins had to clean it come. Five minutes before the time, the pizza and food arrived with Wendy and her friends. Jane stayed right next to Dipper the whole time and got in the way several times as they set everything up. Right on time, everyone started to arrive and Dipper knew soon he could finally get away from Jane.
Pacifica took a cup from Mabel as she took in the amount of people in such a small house. Music was playing from some unknown source and she barely knew anyone.
"Come on!" Mabel yelled as she moved toward the crowd, "Mingle!" Pacifica nervously fiddled with her ring before Candy and Grenda pushed her into the crowd. Before she knew it, she lost her friends and was stuck between a couple of drunk teenagers. Everything smelt like beer and she seriously felt sick. Not a lot of people drank back in Gravity Falls, it was a small town. She pushed her way through the crowd before she spotted something. A familiar boy sat on a couch with a girl Pacifica had only seen in pictures. Her heart started to ache as she watched them laugh, their hands intertwined. A cup of beer was in both of their hands and Pacifica didn't know what they would do next. Instead of watching Dipper kiss Jane, she pushed herself past everyone to find a place alone or one of her Gravity Falls friends.
Unknown to Pacifica, Dipper had seen her walk pass. He had froze and Jane placed her hand on his shoulder.
"What's wrong babe?" He looked into her eyes before sighing.
"I need to go," She frowned as he got up. She grabbed his arm.
"Where?" His head was foggy.
"Pacifica," He responded. That's all he could remember, "I need to see Pacifica," Jane frowned.
"Why?" She asked, "She rejected you!" He rubbed his head.
"No," He muttered and then looked at her, "I messed up. Again and again," He pulled his arm away from her, "I don't know why I'm dating you," Jane seemed upset.
"Well then break up with me!" He rolled his eyes.
"If that's what you want, sure," Dipper walked off, barely keeping his destination in mind. Soon he forgot where he was going, but he knew the alcohol was getting to him. He headed toward his room and noticed the lights were on. He frowned as he opened the door and thankfully only found Pacifica. She seemed to be lost in her thought, but the sound of Dipper locking them in the room together snapped her out of her thought. She turned toward him and frowned.
"I'll be going now," She walked over to him and tried to get around him, "Let me go, Dipper," He watched her.
"No," He responded, "I need to speak with you," He slowly spoke, "I miss you," Pacifica frowned.
"Three things," She started, "You're drunk, so you're lying. You have a girlfriend and you broke my heart,""I'm not lying," Dipper responded, "And I broke up with her for you," A headache made him frown, "I still love you,"
"Listen, Dipper," She responded, "We can't-" He didn't think before kissing her on the lips. His kiss was sloppy, but for a couple second they forgot everything that happened. Pacifica broke away before frowning, "This isn't right," He tried to kiss her again, but she ducked under him and grabbed for the doorknob. She unlocked it and crossed her arms, "Bye Dipper," He frowned as he watched her go and finally allowed himself to collapse.
Dipper woke up on the floor in his room. He could tell he had a minor hangover. Even after all these years, he got drunk quickly. Hoping Mabel had left out the medicine, he headed down stairs and didn't even notice Pacifica helping Mabel cook. Out of everyone who came, Mabel and Pacifica were the only ones who hadn't gotten majorly drunk[Mabel had some, but not enough to do damage].
"Everything hurts," Dipper complained before sitting at the table.
