There's been people all around the house. Laptops every where, phone calls being taken all the time. Desperate to find Captain Kidd."Is with the special task force with the FBI, what're the chances we're even going to find him?" I ask Vandyke. I haven't wanted to bother Townsend today. He needs to be focused and he already as people talking at him every second.
"We are confident he will talk to the FBI. He will give up the location of Maroum. His own men agree and the guy is young, he won't want to stay in jail forever. Ideally we find him before he talks, but if we don't, at least we find him after and make sure he can't talk any further." He replies.
"I'm good with technology and security but I'm not sure even I can't get into highly classified FBI databases and it would take a long time."
"We don't need that. We need him to be transported out of FBI headquarters."
"That would only be after he's interrogated though."
He shrugs. "This was an error. Something had gone wrong. We control what we can now."
Im the one who gave this Intel to Reddington, and the outcome was that Captain Kidd ended up in FBI custody. There's no way the FBI would have gotten him if it weren't for my information. If it weren't for Reddington potentially giving that to them.
I know these high level criminals have dirty cops, that's not new news to anybody. But to maybe have an entire task force of the FBI? Why would they agree to that? But also why feed them this job with Captain Kidd? To ruin Townsend I suspect is the only reason and having the FBI carry that out makes it harder for him to intervene.
"The FBI have intercepted Safiya." Someone announces. The room goes dead quiet.
"Everybody get out." Townsend demands.
Everybody except Vandyke and Godwin begin to filter out the room.
"Cora, you are not everybody." I stop and turn back to the living room.
"Only top clearance knew of this job, somebody must be betraying me there's no other explanation. I want them found and I want their heads hanging from the FBIs fucking ceiling." Townsend frantically starts pacing.
"It's a possibility this has nothing to do with us. The FBI could have been on his trail for a while now, or perhaps the abduction scene was too incriminating." Godwin tries to mediate.
"No. We don't make errors like that."
Everyone stays quiet, thinking.
"Reddington." I offer. "Maybe it was Reddington. He's the only new factor in your dealings, maybe he's trying to get any bit of revenge where he can?" If you give people the truth, they're more likely to believe you, making it easier to withhold information.
He considers this.
"Perhaps Elizabeth Keen. She's been to this house, maybe she's bugged it." Vandyke adds.
"No, I would have detected anything like that." I counter.
All of the sudden that random bitch assistant enters the room.
"Apologies to interrupt Mr. Townsend, but it appears we have found Captain Kidds location."
Without stopping we get into the car with two guardsmen and Vandyke driving.
We pull up to a suburban home, subtle and non suspecting.
"Cora, you stay with Vandyke." Townsend orders. He and the two guardsmen exit and walk up to the front door, simply knocking.
An FBI agent opens the door and lets them by.
It's quiet as Vandyke and I wait. This must be an FBI safe house with clearly, a dirty agent.
Three flashes suddenly appear in one of the front windows. Gunshots with silenced weapons.
Not long after Townsend and his men come back to the car, and we drive home.
