I walked into the dorm, expecting to see Tyla's bright smile. But instead, I saw her curled up on the couch, her phone in her hand, tears streaming down her face. My heart crushed. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut.
I rushed to her side, my mind racing. "Tyla, what's wrong?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm.
She tried to brush it off, but I saw the comments on her phone. My anger flared, but I pushed it down. Tyla needed me now.
I pulled her into a hug, holding her tight. "Don't read that stuff, Tyla. It's not worth it." I whispered words of encouragement, trying to soothe her pain.
As she cried, I felt my heart break. I wanted to protect her from all the hate. I held her for hours, until she finally fell asleep in my arms.
She was adorable, her face scrunched up, her hair messy. I stroked her hair, feeling a sense of peace wash over me.
But when the other members walked in, I was a blushing mess. I tried to play it cool, but I knew I'd been caught. Han Jisung raised an eyebrow, and Lee Know smirked. I glared at them, trying to silence them.
Tyla stirred, waking up to our stares. She looked up at me, her eyes still puffy from crying. I smiled softly, trying to reassure her.
"Hey, you okay?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Tyla nodded, still looking up at me. I felt my heart skip a beat. I knew in that moment, I'd do anything to protect her.
