Chan woke up with a headache, remembering the drinks from last night. As he sat up, he saw Tyla sleeping beside his couch. She had stayed to take care of him.
His heart skipped a beat as memories flooded back. He had confessed his feelings to Tyla last night. Chan's face flushed with embarrassment and excitement.
He gently brushed a strand of hair from Tyla's face. "Tyla?" he whispered. She stirred, opening sleepy eyes that locked onto his.
"Morning," she smiled softly. Chan's heart raced. "You stayed?" Tyla nodded, sitting up. "You weren't exactly in a state to take care of yourself."
"Thanks for looking out for me," Chan said, feeling grateful. Tyla's expression turned serious. "About what you said last night..." Chan's pulse quickened.
"I meant every word," he whispered. Tyla's cheeks flushed, and she looked away, smiling. Chan's heart soared.
