He didn't say anything after that. We grabbed my things and then headed back to Tris's place. We walked in silence. I had a lot to think about anyway. I want her to know. I just don't know when. She deserves to know.
We got back to Tris's place right in time. Dinner was just about done. I took my things to where all the Dauntless sleeping in the basement. I then joined everyone at the table for dinner.
*Tris's POV*
It was nice having Four here. It just felt right. Tomorrow, I can probably show Four around town. Show him where I grow up. I think he might like that. He told me he wanted to get to know me. This would be a start.
All the Dauntless kids were hanging out in the basement where we were sleeping. I was lying on the blow-up bed. My head was resting on Four's lap. We were joking and having a grand old time. Austin was telling them stories about our past.
"I can't believe our little Tris was a quiet thing." Chris told me.
"I wasn't a quiet girl. I would rather keep to myself. Austin was the only one that got me." I told them.
"But you helped the football team." Lauran commented.
"Well, she was the smartest girl at the school. The coach wanted to keep the players' grades good." Austin told them.
"I wasn't the smartest one. I can't even pass Faction History." I told them.
"You are smart. You just not studying right." Four told me. I looked up to him and smiled. He has so much hope and believing in me.
"He is right, Tris. You are smart. I wouldn't have passed last year without you." Austin told me.
"I am wondering one thing. Who was the guy that stared at you when we were at the restaurant?" Shaunna asked me.
"What guy?" Four asked, looking at me and then our friends.
I just kept my mouth shut. Everyone here is my friend, but I don't know if I can tell them about my ex. It did hurt me and everything, mainly after homecoming. I looked over to Austin, and he gave me a small smile. He then said,
"Tris, they have the right to know. If you don't tell them, I might."
"Tris, who is he? Is he dangerous or something?" Zeke asked me, worried.
"No. He is my ex. He isn't dangerous. Just an asshole." I told them truthfully. I know they have the right to know. Mostly Four.
"There is more. She is holding back. Tris, you need to tell them about everything. Tell them why he is an asshole." Austin said out loud.
"What is he talking about?" Edward asked me, consured.
I looked at them. They deserve the right to know. Mostly when I can't stand him after what he did. I know there is going to be one person that is going to be hell-as pissed about it. I looked up to Four. He smiled to tell me everything was alright. I then said,
"We started to date at the beginning of last year. I thought he loved me. I fell in love with him. We were called the it couples. Or I thought we were until homecoming. That is when I found out the truth. We were nominated for Queen and King for homecoming. We won. But it was all a joke. I got up on the stage, and I got Carried. You know blood falls on you. It was fake blood with gunk in it. I was horrified. He was cheating on me the whole time with the head cheerleader."
"Are you kidding me? That is horrible. Tris, I am so sorry." Chris told me.
I looked up to Four to see what his face was. He looked pissed. I know he would be. Everyone looked sorry for me and everything. I tried to change the topic. It did little work. Everyone still looked sorry for me. Four just held me to let me know he was here.
