I went to my room first to put my bag down. Then I have to go meet up with Max to catch up and see how everything is going to go. Hopefully, I will get some time to talk with Tris. But I know I will get time to be with her. She will have most of her things in my room by the end of the week anyway.
The meeting with Max took longer than I thought it would. It was already dinner. When I finally got there, I saw Tris sitting with our friends. I got my food and joined them. Tris smiled at me when she saw me. I smiled back at her.
*Tris's POV*
We all got into a schedule quickly when we got back to school. Mostly, Four and I did. He always tries to find it to be with me. It was nice. He does make me feel special. I know we will not always get that time to be alone. But now it's getting warmer and pleasant out again. The snow is gone. Spring is finally here. I won't hate doing our morning runs.
I wake up to my alarm. I stretched to feel the bed empty. Where did Four go? I sat up to see if he was getting ready for our run. But he wasn't even in the room. I then saw a note on the nightstand next to me.
Tris,
Sorry to miss our morning run. But had to go. Max called an emergency meeting. I will see you later.
Four
P.S. Don't think that I am not going if you run today. Keep up on the training, remember.
That man has eyes everywhere. Of course, he would know if I skipped the morning run. But I wonder what the emergency meeting Max called was all about. I got dressed for my run. He told me I had to run today. But he never said how far.
I went to Chris and my shared room. Yes, I still share a room with her even though I live practically in Four's room. I opened the door to see Chris awake at this hour.
"Morning. I thought you might want to join me on a morning run?" I asked her.
"Why not. I am up anyways." She told me.
Chris quickly got ready, and we were off. I wouldn't make her run how far Four and I do. I feel like that might kill her.
"So, where is Four? I thought you guys usually ran together. Did he do something?" Chris asked me as we ran.
"No, he didn't do anything wrong. Max called an emergency meeting, and Four had to attend it. So, I didn't want to run alone. That's why I asked you." I answered her.
"Okay. I wonder what the meeting is all about. Max usually doesn't call meetings like that." She told me.
"I have no idea." I told her.
*Four's POV*
I went to Max's office. He called an emergency meeting. Something really must be wrong if he called one of those. I also opened the door to see the headmistress standing in the room. What was going on?
"What's going on?" I asked. I wasn't going to have small talk.
"Don't worry, Four. I don't know what is going on. The headmistress came in here and told me to get you. Won't tell me a thing afterward." Max told me.
"Do you remember the group called Bureau?" The headmistress asked us.
"Yes. They are the ones kidnapping Divergent for something. Why?" I asked.
Bureau is a group of people that have been kidnapping Divergent worldwide. For what? We don't know. But we have been trying to figure out what. They have been looking for a current person. We just don't know who.
"Well, they have located the person they have been looking for. We have a problem. It's one of our students." She told us.
"Who? What faction are they in?" Max asked.
"She is in Dauntless. It's Beatrice Prior." She told us.
"What? Are you sure?" I asked, taking it all in.
"Yes, I am sure. It's Tris." She said to us.
"What do we do then?" Max asked.
"For one, we are not telling her. This is going to stay between us. They have not entered or been near the school just yet. We will keep Tris safe. I will be letting her parents know." She told us.
"We should tell her. She has the right to know. I can't keep a secret like this from her." I told her, annoyed.
"Four, you are going to have to. She will be more protected if she doesn't know. Now, if you, gentleman, excuse me. I must make some phones and everything to ensure they don't get near here." The headmistress said.
She then left the Max's office. I then turned and looked at Max. I know he probably disagrees with that. Tris needs to know for her safety.
"Four before you could say anything about this. I know it's not right. But we have to follow like good soldiers. Even if it's not right. I don't believe she is right about not telling her, either. But right now, all we can do is get our Dauntless ready for it all. Mostly, Tris." Max told me.
"She knows everything she needs to be ready. She only needs to know that she is in danger." I told him.
"I know that. But we can't. We keep training her and the others. Until we get other orders. This is just how it's supposed to go." Max told me.
"This is going to be hard. Tris and I are just starting a relationship. I don't want to lie to her or keep secrets." I told Max. "I even told her about my past. So, hiding this, I don't know."
"Four, I know this isn't going to be easy. But for right now. This is for her safety." He told me.
"Yes. But there is more to this than what the headmistress isn't telling us." I told him.
"I have that feeling, too. I will investigate it. I will let you know." He told me.
"Just between you and me?" I asked.
"Yes. Just keep the training up with Tris. Don't let her anywhere alone outside those gates." He told me.
"I won't. I promise." I said.
I then left to go see Tris. I know I will have to figure out how to hide this. But I will. I will protect her.
*Tris's POV*
I was getting ready for school when I heard the door open. It must have been Four. I then yelled from the bathroom,
"Hey, how was the meeting?"
"It was good." He told me.
"Well, that's good. If you don't mind me asking. What was the meeting about?" I asked.
I came out and looked right at Four. He seemed like something was bothering him. What was it? He said the meeting went well.
"It was nothing really. Just wanted to talk about what we would do for classes." He said.
"Are you okay? You seemed like something was bothering you." I asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just not ready to go back grading and everything." He told me.
"Okay. I will see you later. I told the girls I would head to school with them." I told him.
I went over to him and gave him a kiss on his cheek. I then went to meet up with the girls in the pit. But I know something is bothering him. But what?
