I went over to him and gave him a kiss on his cheek. I then went to meet up with the girls in the pit. But I know something is bothering him. But what?

"Hey, what's going on?" Chris asked me.

"Hey. You ready to go?" I asked, heading to the doors.

I want to talk to the girls, but not with all these people. I don't like many people eavesdropping on what I have to say. We then jumped on the train. Luckily for us, it was just us. I then looked at the girls and said,

"Four is hiding something from me. I don't know what."

"What do you mean?" Lauren asked me.

"He had a last-minute meeting to get to this morning. When he came back, something seemed off. I could tell something was bothering him. He also lied to me about the meeting. I just don't know why he would do that." I told them.

"Maybe he has something romantic planned for you guys, and it's a surprise," Chris suggested.

"I don't think so. Lauren, you are his sister. What do you think?" I asked her.

"Who did he meet up for the meeting?" She asked me.

"The headmistress and Max." I answered her.

"Sorry, Chris. I am with Tris on this one. It doesn't have to be anything romantic for them. He would have told me. I haven't heard a thing. Something is up. Mostly, if he meets up with those two early in the morning." Lauren said.

"We will help you figure out what he is hiding." Myra told me.

"Not yet. I will ask him about it later when we are alone." I told them.

I looked out and saw we were close to the school. I do have great friends. I know they won't leave it alone. But they will be doing it in all good. They will wait until I want to know what they find out. But I will wait for that until I talk to Four myself.

We jumped off the train. I landed on my feet pretty well. We then headed to school. We saw the guys waiting there for us. Four were with them. He looked like he had walked here. He only does that when he needs to think.

The day has gone by routine. As normal as Dauntless could be. I headed back to the Dauntless compound for lunch. I just wanted to get away from people. Also, I need to grab a book for my next class. Looks like it might be the perfect timing, too. I went into Four's room to get my book. Look who is here?

"Hey, you. I haven't seen you since this morning." I said.

"Yeah. I have been business. You okay?" He asked.

"I should be asking you that question. Are you okay? Because something seems to be bothering you." I said to him.

"You could always read me pretty good." He said, giving me a smile.

"It's a gift." I said. "What is bothering you? Maybe I can help."

"Just something the headmistress asked for me. More like ordered. I can't go against it. Or talk about it. Sorry, Tris." He told me.

"That's okay. I don't want to get you into trouble. But if you were in trouble, you would tell me. I trust you." I told him.

I could tell something changed in him. He looked up at me and came over to me. He gave me a kiss on the lips. He then pulled away and said,

"You are the best thing in my life. I never want to ruin that. Or lose you. You know that."

"Yeah, I know. You are what is best in my life." I told him.
