______________

"Ominis!"

I make my way up the hill to find the blind boy sitting at the top, staring off into the field.

We both had a family night, and usually family night in our house is practicing deathly duels on each other.

Ominis unfortunately had to go up against his older brothers. Two on one...

He's only 9..

He lost of course, and he came out with a bloody lip and bruised up face. He had scratches running up his arm and his expression was stained.

He sat there, his lips lined in a blank stare.

"Ominis?" I say again, carefully.

I take the seat next to him, staring off into the field in silence.

I leaned my head on his shoulder and stayed silent, waiting, wanting him to make a sound.

He didn't. He stayed quiet and preserved. I wanted him to scream his feelings, to let it out. It's scared me when he held it all in.

His hazed eyes stare out in the distance while he sits there, scar covered, physically and internally.

"D-do you wanna talk about it?"

He silently shakes his head, still his head off into the distance.

He slowly leans his head into mine with a sigh and I could feel that it was enough. Just us having a get away from this life, it was enough for right now.

___________

I kneeled on the floor, cradled and frozen.

The silence rung through the air so thick, you could slice it with an axe.

My breath was heavy as the memories of my birth played in my head, caused by my alleged mother.

She chuckles lowly as I look at her through my eyelashes in a fit of betrayal and rage.

"No.." I whisper more to myself, sounded like I needed to convince myself of that.

She then takes out two pieces of paper from her dress, dropping it in front of me.

"Yes.." she hisses evilly.

I look at the parchment and there lied two birth certificates.

One..

Ominis Thomas Gaunt-  October 28th 1875
7.6 lbs 3 ounces
Helena Rose Gaunt
Theodore Thomas Gaunt

The second..

MaryJane Rosalie Gaunt-  October 28th 1875
6.7 lbs 5 ounces
Helena Rose Gaunt
Theodore Thomas Gaunt

I look at both of the papers in disbelief. I shake my head confusingly.

"Why did you name me and sign the certificate, if you didn't want me?" I ask.
