Trigger Warning: Mention of Rape

Campfires normally eased Sage's mind whenever she watched the fire cracking the wood, but it was a lot difficult for her to be calm when one brother was still out hunting and the other was handcuffed to a roof. She hardly ate the food she caught. Everyone else enjoyed it though, especially because they welcomed the newcomer with open arms. They even listened to his story when he was in a coma and then woke up to the new world. All Sage did was narrow her eyes at the man she hated.

The more he spoke, the more she couldn't stand to be around him, so she tossed the bones that she was gnawing on in the fireplace and walked away from the group since they were all pissing her off by accepting a man who thought it was alright to leave another for dead. Kaylee Jo didn't bother going after her mother as she stayed by Sophia's side. She knew that whenever she was upset something, it was better to leave her alone. In fact, everyone in camp knew not to disturb her, not unless they wanted a black eye. It was best to leave her be whenever she was like this. Still, it didn't mean that no one felt uneasy.

Rick though didn't know what the Dixon siblings were capable of until Dale reminded him, "You really made an enemy out of her."

"Not like I had any other choice. Her brother was going to get us all killed."

"Except the Dixons aren't really people you wanna be messing with. Only thing I'd be worrying about though is her brother, Daryl." Rick raised a quizzical brow at T-Dog as he explained, "He's been out in the woods a couple of days now, hunting, so he doesn't know."

Shane then nodded over to Sage when he talked about her, "That's probably why she didn't go get Merle herself. She's waiting for Daryl to get back to tell him. The only reason why I took them in the first place was because they know how to hunt. The stack we're eating here was caught by her today. If they didn't know how to get food for us, I would've turned them away for trying to fight us all the time."

When Shane finished his explanation, Rick looked back at Sage. He understood why she hated him from the moment he told her that he trapped her brother. Rick didn't think she was ever going to forgive him from the way she was acting. As long as he was with his family though, then he didn't really care what she thought of him as he held them close.

"Well, it's bad enough that Sage's pissed off, but Daryl's another story." Dale took a quick peek at Sage before he turned back to the group. "Word to the wise: we're gonna have our hands full when Daryl comes back from his hunt."

The next morning came by quickly and Sage was already up along with a few other campers. She went down by the creek where she saw Carol watching over her daughter and Kaylee Jo. Sage watched them for a moment peacefully. That little girl and the Hispanic's girl were so accepting of Kaylee Jo, and they all became really good friends of each other.

When Sage saw them laughing while their hands were wiggling around a yard of string, it grasped Sage's curiosity as she went over to them. "Kaylee Jo, what are you doing?"

She smiled at her mother as she replied, "I'm teaching Sophia how to make the bracelet. The one you taught me when we went camping with Uncle Daryl and Merle."

"Yeah, I remember."

Sage wasn't surprised to see Sophia look away from her. Practically everyone avoided Sage except for her brothers and her daughter. Kids were often scared of her because her demeanor wasn't really friendly, but it wasn't like Sage was going to roast them or anything. They were just kids who were too young to know anything, which was why they always needed guidance to help them grow up.
