Chapter 1 - A new life?!

"Cold.. Numb.. Dark.. so this is what it feels like to be dead.."

I thought as I drowned and started to close my eyes and accept my fate of death..

Or atleast I thought so when I suddenly heard crying.. no, more like squeaking..? f-from my own body? How am i crying under the water..? H-huh? I feel such a warm, soft, and.. flu-fluffy embrace?

"Sshhh, it's alright, mommy's here my dear lunette"

Lunette? Doesn't that mean 'Little Moon'? And also, she said that she's my.. mom? That can't be right.. my mom died when i was.. 13 years old.

Ah.. but I'm also dead now.. at the age of 17 years old.. It's only been a month since my birthday and my life has already ended.. Damn it, I couldn't even reach adulthood nor would I be able to wear my dream dress

I slowly open up my eyes to look at what's happening "Oh, you've calm down. Such a good girl. My dear beautiful baby daughter."

I blink. Twice. Then thrice. What.. w-what is this.. a huge fox is in front of my face?! And a talking one at that! T-this.. "hngh.. w-wahhhhh~" Ah fuck, why am i crying?! And i can't control it, i just wanna cry.

"A-ah, wait, uhm.. s-shhh, don't cry.." I stopped crying as I see the big fox panicking and then turned into a beautiful silver haired woman.. and are those, e-ears..? And a tail? She picked the stunned me into her arms. Wait.. arms? Come to think of it, I feel heavy yet light at the same time. Also, I feel something moving at where my body's tailbone is supposed to be as well as feeling something twitching on top of my head yet on my ears at the same time.

"Phew, you stopped crying again. I'm sorry, I seem to have startled you. Maybe I should've calmed you down in my human form rather than in my fox form, haha" Wait, who is this woman? I can't seem to speak, nothing comes out of my mouth. Agh, so irritating, i'll just ask her with my hands. I raised my hand to reach for her only to be shocked by my very own hand. "Why do I have small hands?!" I shouted in my head.

"Awww, so cute, are you trying to comfort mommy? My daughter is so kind~" the woman said as she takes my hand into hers. That leads me to shock.

"Ha~? What comfort? I'm not comforting you!" I wanted to say but again, I can't speak. "Tch.." and what's with all this ringing like notifications swerving in? Argh! It's so annoying, it makes my head hurt!

It's been atleast 2-3 hours since the woman set me back down on a crib after I was crying like a baby. Oh wait, I am a baby, apparently. She left after calming and putting me down. So let me get this straight.. I, Yunnie(Y/n) Lang(L/n), drowned after the plane I was on crashed and being the me who can't swim other than do a back floating, was helpless and died. Or atleast I though I died. But then I've been reborn in this.. fantasy world with a somewhat similar name, which is Yulliane Orland. I could probably use my old name as a nickname since it's close anyway. Also, my family name, where have i heard it before? Meh, probably doesn't matter.

Ah right, I also found out that that woman earlier is my mother, Sierra Orland (name was a bit referenced from Sierra Agriche lmao and somewhat similar personalities). She's a kind and meek person but a lovable and adoring mother. I found out that I'm a half-human. My other half was as a fox demon, which is my mother's lineage. It feels weird to have a mother again.. although I do miss it and I'm kind of happy that I have a loving and caring mother again, I don't seem to feel comfortable or open with Sierra yet..
