Author's Note: Before you read, please know that I'm not fluent in Thai and I did the very best that I could to write this. But I wrote it a little differently than I have my others that are like this.

Since I'm still learning Thai myself, I used Google Translate for this, so this chapter could contain a few errors here and there but I promise I did my very best.

I hope you enjoy this and if you speak Thai and see any errors, please point them out kindly. I will change them if I can, though Wattpad doesn't let me do that very easily once my chapters are published.

Thank you for understanding. I hope you enjoy it! 🩷

"Hi, my love," Minnie grinned as you sat down on her lap.

"Hi, pretty girl," You happily replied and leaned in to peck her lips. "How was your day?"

"Very good. Yeah, we got a lot done today."

"That's awesome, baby." You said before you brushed your fingers across her cheeks. "I had a pretty productive day today."

"You did? That's good. What did you do? I thought since it's your day off you'd catch up on some rest so I'm curious as to what you did instead." She spoke, very interested in hearing about your day.

You planned to tell her everything.

But not how she expects you to.

See, for a while now, you've been hard at work as you practice Thai.

Minnie has taught you a few words and phrases during your relationship since you do love to visit Thailand and get to know people in her life who speak the language too, such as her close friends and family.

But there's a lot you still don't know and sometimes it's tough when you're with everyone that speaks their native language while you ask Minnie to translate for you.

It's taken a lot of time and effort as you spend hours and hours trying to learn the beautiful language.

And today, you finally felt confident enough in knowing the language to surprise Minnie with speaking it.

So as you began to tell her all about what you did today, you spoke every word in Thai.

"ฉันนอนได้นิดหน่อย," You said, which translated to 'I slept in a little'.

Then, you continued.

"ฉันทำความสะอาดห้องนอน," You continued, telling her that you cleaned the bedroom. "ฉันซักผ้า", you told her that you did laundry. "และฉันได้เรียนรู้สูตรใหม่"

And, to finish, you told her that you learned a new recipe.

When you stopped talking, you stared at Minnie with a proud expression.

She seemed pretty shocked judging by the look in her big brown eyes.

But she began to smile from ear to ear.

"คุณรู้จักภาษาไทย!" She said, translating to 'you know Thai!'

"ฉันได้เรียนรู้แล้ว," You proudly replied, saying 'I've been learning'.

"คุณกำลังทำได้อย่างน่าทึ่ง," She smiled, the phrase translating to 'you're doing amazing'.

"ฉันรักคุณ,"

I love you.

It was one of the first phrases Minnie taught you in Thai and remains your favorite.

"ฉันก็รักคุณ,"

I love you too, she grinned.

You leaned in and kissed her soft lips, making her grip on you tighten and her smile grow even wider and brighter.

"I'm so proud of you. You must've been studying and practicing so hard at learning Thai!"

"I have been. I wanted to tell you for so long but I wanted to keep it a surprise. I'm proud of how far I've come. I feel so confident in it. Am I doing good?"

"ยอดเยี่ยม"

Great, she grinned.

You kissed her again and she giggled when you pulled away before kissing your face.

"Learning a new language is lots of fun. Are you going to learn another?" She wondered. "Because I speak five." She playfully reminded you with a laugh.

And you just playfully rolled your eyes at her in response, knowing that you still had some Thai left to learn.

But maybe someday, you'd ask Minnie to teach you more of another language she speaks, to make the learning just as fun as learning Thai was.
