Shivnya was seated under a tree, her knees drawn to her chest, tears silently tracing paths down her cheeks. She pulled out a gun from her back, her eyes hardening with anger and despair. Her grip tightened around the weapon, yet she knew it was futile. When she needed it most, her hands had betrayed her. Each tear was a reminder of her failure, a failure that had cost her the person she loved most. The memories of that fateful day suffocated her, each one a cruel reminder that he was gone. The fire of revenge in her heart grew hotter with each passing day, the urge to see his killer suffer gnawing at her sanity.
She heard someone calling her name and quickly concealed the gun, wiping her tears away.
"Shiviii, where did you go?" Aarav asked, his voice tinged with concern.
"Nowhere, I was just here," she replied in a monotone, not meeting his eyes.
"We were worried," he said, but she ignored him, her voice rising as she called out to others.
"Sanj, Divit, Aayansh, Tanmay, Yuvraj!"
"Where were you, Di?" Aayansh asked.
"I was just asking that, hoping you might have an answer," Aarav interjected, a hint of sarcasm in his tone.
"It's getting late, let's go home," she said, leading the way to the bus with everyone trailing behind her.
In the bus, she took a seat at the back, lost in her thoughts, until Abhimanyu approached.
"Can I sit?" he asked.
She silently made a seat for him. The journey back was silent, exhaustion and the late hour lulling everyone to sleep. Shivnya dozed off, leaning against the window, but soon her body began to tremble. Abhimanyu, thinking she was cold, draped a blanket over her. Despite the blanket, her shivering continued and her breathing became erratic.
"No..." she murmured in her sleep, her brow furrowed, lips quivering as though pleading. Confused, Abhimanyu gently cradled her head on his shoulder. She clutched his arm tightly, and he stroked her knuckles, whispering soothing words.
"Shh... It's okay jaan , I'm here. Nothing will happen to you, I promise. Trust me," he murmured softly.
Gradually, her breathing steadied and the shivering ceased. She settled into his arms, falling into a deeper, peaceful sleep.
When the bus reached the villa, everyone began to disembark. Abhimanyu didn't want to disturb her, but he knew he had to wake her.
"Ms. Rajvanshi, we've arrived," he said softly, touching her cheek.
