"Kamini, jaldi karo! Wo log kabhi bhi aane waale hain," Yuvantika said while arranging the items for the pooja.

( Kamini, hurry up! They could arrive at any moment )

"Ji, Didi," Kamini replied quickly.

( Yes, Sister )

"Aayansh, ask your sister how long it will take her to arrive," Yuvantika ordered.

"Ji, Badi Maa," Aayansh responded. But before he could ask, Shivnya stormed in and shouted

( Yes, Mother )

"I clearly said that she is not supposed to be at my wedding, so why is she here?"

"Beta..." Kamini tried to explain, but it was of no use.

( Child... )

"Tell her to leave. I don’t want to see her face. I hate her," Shivnya roared.

Her mother left, tears in her eyes, because every time she saw her mother, she remembered how she abandoned her due to her mother-in-law's provocations after the death of her other child.

"Ajay," Viren's voice boomed, causing everyone to fall silent. However, Shivnya didn't turn back; instead, she went to the backyard.

Upon our arrival at Rajvanshi Mansion, we were greeted by the sight of everyone gathered and engaged in conversation. However, when Shivnya's grandfather beckoned us over, they fell silent. Without offering greetings, Shivnya promptly made her way to the backyard.

Ten minutes later, she returned, stunning in her first-ever saree. Her beauty was captivating, from her divine smile to the wisp of loose locks that framed her face. A pang of jealousy struck me, knowing those strands could touch her, a privilege I wished for. I wanted to touch her, kiss her, and explore every corner of her body.

As my impure thoughts dissipated, my mother suggested we take our seats for the ritual. Shivnya draped her head with the saree, and panditji commenced the chanting of mantras. Eventually, he invited us to extend our hands to have a kala dhaga tied around our wrists. I presented my hand, and panditji secured the dhaga. He placed another kala dhaga in my palm.

I asked, "What should I do with this dhaga?"

"Beta, aap rajgharaane se hain aur aap RANA SA hain. Hum hone wali rani ko dhaga nahi pehna sakte," he explained. I nodded and took Shivnya's hand, tying the dhaga on her wrist as we continued the pooja.
