Yuna's pov
The next day arrived faster than I expected, and as the morning light streamed through the windows, I couldn't help but feel the familiar mix of excitement and anxiety that always preceded my concerts. Today wasn't just any day-it was the day I had been waiting for. The concert that I had prepared for, dreamed about, was finally here. But unlike other singers, I had a secret to protect, a dual life to maintain, and that made everything infinitely more complicated.
I sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the mask resting on the dresser. That mask had become as much a part of me as my voice. It was my shield, my armor, the thing that kept my identity hidden from the world. I wore it not just to protect myself but to keep everyone I cared about safe. No one could know who the singer behind the mask was-not even Eun Sang.
Nari came and sat next to me "Yuna, do you remember what today is?" she asked, a hint of excitement in her voice.
I blinked, slowly coming to my senses. "Of course, I know,"I replied confidently. "It's the day of my concert. The one I've been waiting for so long".
Nari smiled, but there was something else in her expression, a bit of hesitation. "Yes, it is. But... we also have to attend Alex's wedding".
I froze, the reality of her words sinking in. "What? Alex's wedding? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
Nari sighed, looking a little guilty. "Alex invited us on the day of the car race. But you were unconscious, and with everything that was going on, I completely forgot to tell you"
I stared at her, my mind racing. How could I manage both the concert and the wedding? I had to keep my identity as a singer secret, even from our closest friends. But Alex's wedding was important too.
"How am I supposed to manage both?" I asked, my voice tinged with frustration.
Nari, always the optimist, gave me a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Yuna. We'll figure something out. We'll make it work. But first, we need to get ready. We can do a little shopping for the wedding before we head to the concert"
Her words were meant to comfort me, but they only made me more anxious. The day ahead seemed overwhelming, a tangled mess of responsibilities and secrets that I wasn't sure I could handle. But I knew one thing: I couldn't let anyone down, especially not today.
Before I could respond, the doorbell rang. Nari's eyes widened slightly in surprise, and she headed to the door. "I wonder who that could be," she murmured, more to herself than to me.
As she opened the door, I heard familiar voices. "Hey, princess. Can we come in, or do we have to explain everything right here?" Min Jun's teasing tone filled the room, followed by the sound of Nari's laughter.
"Oh, come in already," Nari said, her tone exasperated but affectionate. I stood up, smoothing out my shirt, and walked over to see Min Jun and Eun Sang entering the room, both carrying shopping bags. As soon as Eun Sang's eyes met mine, we exchanged a small, warm smile, the kind that held unspoken words and shared understanding.
Nari closed the door behind them and crossed her arms. "So, what brings you two here? Shouldn't you be getting ready for Alex's wedding?"
Min Jun shot her a playful look. "Can't we visit without any particular reason? Maybe we just wanted to see our favorite ladies before the big event".
Nari raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. "You're telling me you're not here for any reason at all? Today's Alex's wedding, so what's the real reason?"
Eun Sang chuckled softly, shaking his head. "We were doing some shopping, actually".
"For what?" I asked, curious as to what they could have possibly needed at this hour.
