AVINAASH'S POV
I was still in shock, but I knew I couldn't afford to stay that way. Being paralyzed by disbelief wouldn't help Kaainaat, and it wouldn't bring me any closer to the truth. I needed to act, to find the real culprit and prove Kaainaat's innocence. There was no time to waste on confusion and despair.
After hearing everything Mr. Ravishankar had said, I knew I needed to clear my head. My first stop was the hospital. The sight of Adhrit, lying there unconscious, was haunting. The man who had been a pillar of strength and resolve, now reduced to a fragile state, his life hanging in the balance. It was a reminder of how quickly everything could fall apart, and how deeply entwined we were in this tangled web of secrets and lies.
But I couldn't linger. As much as it tore at me to leave Adhrit there, I knew that my next step had to be to visit Kaainaat. She was sitting in a cold, lonely cell, probably scared and confused, maybe even thinking that she had been abandoned. The thought of her enduring this alone was unbearable. I wasn't even sure if her family knew what was happening, and the idea that she might be facing this nightmare without anyone by her side made my heart ache.
Before I left for the police station, I returned to Adhrit's place, where I had been staying. I moved through the kitchen, my hands working almost on autopilot as I cooked something for Kaainaat. It wasn't much, but it was something I could do for her—a small gesture to let her know that she wasn't alone, that someone still cared.
As I prepared the food, my mind raced. What could I say to her? How could I possibly reassure her when I wasn't even sure what was going on myself? But I knew I had to try. Kaainaat had always been strong, but this—this was something no one should have to face alone.
Once the food was ready, I packed it carefully into a tiffin, making sure everything was secure. I didn't want anything to spill or get ruined—it had to be perfect. She needed something normal, something that reminded her of home, of safety, even if just for a moment.
With the tiffin in hand, I made my way to the police station. Each step felt heavy, burdened with the weight of everything that had happened and everything that was still to come. The closer I got, the more my nerves began to fray, but I pushed them down, forcing myself to focus on Kaainaat and what she needed from me right now.
When I arrived at the station, the reality of the situation hit me even harder. The building loomed large and foreboding, a place of confinement and accusation. I swallowed the lump in my throat and steeled myself. I had to be strong for her.
As I approached the desk, the officer behind it gave me a once-over, clearly skeptical of my presence. I explained who I was and why I was there, and after what felt like an eternity, they finally allowed me to see her.
Walking down the cold, sterile corridor, my heart pounded in my chest. What would I say? How would she react? I had no idea what condition she was in, emotionally or physically. All I knew was that I had to be there for her, no matter what.
Finally, I reached her cell. The sight of her, sitting there with her head bowed, hit me like a punch to the gut. She looked so small, so vulnerable—nothing like the strong, confident woman I knew.
"Kaainaat," I called softly, my voice thick with emotion.
She looked up, her eyes meeting mine, and in that moment, everything else fell away. All the confusion, the fear, the anger—it all faded into the background. All that mattered was her, and making sure she knew she wasn't alone in this.
"I brought you some food," I said, holding up the tiffin as if it were some kind of peace offering, a way to bridge the gap that this nightmare had created between us.
She stared at the tiffin for a moment, then back at me, and I saw the faintest flicker of something in her eyes—relief, gratitude, maybe even hope. It wasn't much, but it was enough.

Mere liye uski khushi hi ek jeeti hui baazi hai"
