Maddie's POV
It's been two weeks since Ven made a confession about her still feeling things for me.
It was never brought up again after that night.
I thought with that confession of hers, it will give me a window of opportunity but no. It was more of a closure than anything.
I have come to accept the truth. We will never be more than friends. She said it to me. It can never happen again.
There are still times I dream about it. The things we did...
The kisses we've shared...
But she told me to stop her if she ever came on to me. She doesn't want it to happen again. She doesn't want me.
Her feelings may not be as deep as mine.
Because mine, goes beyond just physical. She was like the better half of me.
My soul partner that I lost because of my cowardliness.
"Hey! I'm glad to have you on the squad again." Carly says cheerfully.
After enough convincing from Vicky, I finally decide to try out again.
I pass the tryouts today.
"Thanks Carly, I didn't think I will pass. Thanks to Vicky now I'll get a full scholarship." I say.
"Yup, I'm so excited.. I have a good feeling this year. We have a real chance of winning it now." She says.
I smile and check myself out.
"It feels weird to be wearing this uniform again." I say.
"You look great! What are you talking about? If it was my choice, I will choose you as our captain again." She says.
I bump her shoulder playfully.
"Hey that's kind of not nice. What if Vicky hears you. She's great too. I've seen her dance. Even better than me." I say.
But Carly shakes her head.
"Maddie don't you remember our glory days? We were the best of the best! You always lead us to victory."
"That was so long ago, we were still so young then. Full of energy and stamina.. I don't know if I still got it." I say.
"Yep.. so young. Too bad, we could have recruit Raven now if only she was still interested. I know you're much more focus whenever she's around. Back when we were competing against her school, it was always so joyful to watch you get so competitive."
I giggle as I recall our old memories.
That time was really fun.
"Anyway, I've got to go to my next class. See you later?" Carly says while she grab her things.
We are sitting on the bleachers right now but she has to go to her next class.
"Yeah, okay. See you later." I say.
"Are you staying here?" She ask.
"Yes, Raven and I agree to meet here." I say smiling and waving for her to go and that I'm fine on my own.
