Lifeline

I grabbed your hand,
you stood strong and acted like my lifeline.

You were there when I called for you,
and you pulled me out of the dark.

You banished all my dark thoughts,
and destroyed all my fears.

You took my heart,
and told me it was good.

You grabbed my personality,
and told me to stay that way forever.

You became my lifeline,
and when I needed you most.

You told me there was another person,
that could save my life.

You told me he has a big heart,
and that he will love me for me.

You told me he's already saved me once,
and that he could be like a father to me.

I realized what you said,
and looked into my heart.

I saw two lifelines there,
instead of one.

The first was for him,
and the second was for you.

I looked back at you,
And thanked you.

For being my lifeline,
before I found my permanent one.
