Chapter Six:
The Spy⭑*•̩̩͙⊱••••✩••••̩̩͙⊰•*⭑
ᴺᴼᵂ ᴾᴸᴬᵞᴵᴺᴳ: You can't hurry love
"She said love don't come easy.
It's a game of give and take"
"Reverse a min, how big was the alien creatures?"
Lucy sat awkwardly next to Steve in his car, head leaning against the window. Dustin and Monica sat in the back, with chatter mostly between Steve and the elder girl for a while. Steve kept glancing at Lucy, making sure he didn't spot any blood by her nose — he wasn't sure if she'd been using her powers more but he had a feeling she was.
They'd driven back to the Harrington house to grab Steve's bat before heading back towards Dustin. By the time they got towards the house, darkness had fallen around.
"He was like this and now he's like this," Dustin explained, moving his hand.
"I swear to God man, it's just some lizard," Steve tried to reason.
"No, it wasn't," Lucy mumbled tiredly. "It ate my favourite cat, Mews."
Steve didn't attempt to argue with that as he saw the devastation on Lucy's face. She often expressed that she'd visit Dustin because she liked the cat just as much as her friend. Instead, he led the group towards the cellar of Dustin's house, leaning forward to see if he could hear anything.
"I can't hear shit," said Steve.
"He's in there," Dustin added.
Steve hit his bat against the doors but there was still no noise. Lucy began to pick her heads in nerves, hoping the creature hadn't escaped. She had already began to battle a headache and the feeling of being pulled into a vision, she didn't need to worry about being eaten alive.
"All right, listen, kid. I swear, if thisis some sort of Halloween prank, you're dead," Steve warned, pointing the light at Dustin.
"It's not. All right? It's not a prank," Dustin scrunched his face up. "Get it out of my face."
"You got a key for this thing?" Monica asked, kicking the lock.
Once the doors had been unlocked, Lucy allowed Steve to lead the way down the steps with his flashlight in hand. Monica had a bored look on her face but Lucy still couldn't shake her terrified feeling that it could still be there.
Steve picked up a slimy skin skin-looking thing with his bat and Lucy had to resist the urge to gag. Dustin, whom she'd practically forced down into the space, also grimaced.
"Oh shit," Dustin whispered.
The light shone towards the wall, where it looked like a hole had been dug and in that moment, it was very clear to Lucy that Dart had escaped...and now they were all in danger.
