I shivered as I felt a chill run up my spine. Strong arms tightened around me and secured me against a toned chest. And I snuggled more into the source of warmth.
My eyes fluttered open and I registered my surrounding, I
I was in a lavish car in the arms of Jarrel. My eyes traveled to his handsome face, he was looking forward and had a distant look on his face. Deep frown etched onto his forehead. His eyes cold and emotionless. He had a hard, distant look.
I slowly raised my arm and traced his frown on the forehead. His head snapped towards me and everything single trace of coldness vanished from his features. He breathed. It was like he came to life, as soon as his eyes met mine. They held so much concern and softness. It made my heart clench.
"don't frown." I whispered softly as I smiled at him. My voice came out heavy and hoarse.
In an instant, he picked up the glass of water and raised up to my lips, I took a few gulps as he supported me. And thanked him.
He put aside the glass and his eyes met mine.
"how are you feeling?" he frowned. his voice was laced with worry and concern.
"tired." I answered truthfully after quickly performing a mind check of my body. My limbs were aching and I was slightly cold.
He bent over and turned up the heater more.
The next moment, he embraced me so tightly, nuzzling my neck. His whole body was stiff and tensed.
He cradled me to his chest with such intensity like he was afraid that I would disappear anytime
I frowned.
"what's wrong? What happened?" I inquired.
Moments passed by but he didn't respond. His breathing was heavy as he nuzzled my neck and took in my scent. Cradling me to his body.
"Jarrel." I called out to him as I placed my hand on he back of his head.
He slowly rose up his head and net my concerned gaze. He looked so torn like he was hurting inside.
"we couldn't find you." His voice was a bare whisper.
"we thought we lost you." He placed his forehead against mine and clenched his eyes painfully. His fingers lacing into my hair.
" and when we did, you were passed out in your office." His voice broke at the end. As if it pained him to even think about it.
He took in a sharp inhale and opened his eyes. They were glistening.
"you were burning up." His voice broke.
I felt my heart break into thousand pieces.
I smashed my lips with his in a promising kiss. Taking away his worry and pain. His lips trembled with the intensity as he kissed me like his life depended on it. Savoring every inch of me.
I slowly pulled away and met his gaze.
"I'm here. I'm ok." I smiled at him with such warmth trying to ease his worries. Reassuring with each word.
I felt his body slightly relax and he pulled me tighter to his chest. Embracing me. Engulfing me with his warmth. I felt protected.
My eyes traveled to my side and I felt my heart tremble at the sight.
Azriel laid with his eyes closed. My hand clutched in both of his large hands. His hair disheveled. He looked so torn and cold. He had a frown etched on his face. Which gave away his hidden worries. His hands clutching mine like his life depended on it. His body was tense and hard. Every single muscle straining under the force.
