Chapter 1

I opened up my phone again and sighed. "Same thing each every time" I said in a quite voice. It was already 8 PM and I've been bed rotting my whole summer.

I kept scrolling on all my social medias trying to find something to peak my interest. Nothing. Just memes, drama, AI, trends, etc. How can someone live a life with technology. I was never fond with tech in the first place.

However, there is no escape once you start having one.

I wanted to be closer to nature then virtual reality. My parents however disagree. They want me to be more closer to tech as ever. "It is the future." Is what my parents always say.

My mom called me for dinner and I walked downstairs. I was eating and enjoying the decent food. My parents always buy take out. They were to busy to make homemade food.

That's how my parents are. It wasn't bad food but it didn't felt like a home cook meal either. My dad and mom were talking about something. I didn't really care much to pay any attention. I just nod my head back and forth.

After the meal, I went back up to go sleep. Same cycle each single day. Today however I stumbled onto a book called "Escape".
I found it in-front of my bedroom door so I assumed my mom put it there.

Before I could go downstairs I decided to check my phone. For any new notifications. Nothing. Just from apps and such. My friends were to busy with their own life.

With technology of 3025 being a big deal no one really cares about people or even themselves. They want to find something better then the life they have.

Even if they are living the most stable amazing life they still wanted more. Everyone wants to escape reality of course, but not for the same reason I do.

I went downstairs and asked my mom about the book.

"Hey mom... did you perhaps put this book in front of my door." - I said

She looked at me weird.

"I have no idea what you are talking about, since your down here please clean the house your father and I will be gone for a couple of months"

"What do you mean for a couple of months!" Where are you even going?" I said in a shocking tone.

"I've told you during dinner and I've been reminding you each single day. I guess you were to worked up on your stupid phone you didn't listen." She then sighed, "We've decided that we are going on vacation." My mom said.

"Will I be coming too?" -I said enthusiastically

I really wanted to get out and have some fun before school starts. To finally take my mind off my phone and live a little.

"No, you will be staying in the house cleaning and you found a book to read."My mom said

My heart shattered into a million pieces.

"Bu-" I got cut off from a beeping noise from a car.

My dad called my mom to grab her luggage.

My dad and mom hugged me goodbye and went of into there trip.

My mom also had taken away my phone because I kept ignoring her. I'm now only able to use the house phone for emergency.

"I'm grounded aren't I." I said to myself.

Tears were now falling off my face. I couldn't bare the fact that my parents will be enjoying there life while I'm stuck at home.

I went back upstairs to dry my face. I then put the book on my desk and went on my laptop. Luckily she didn't thought about my laptop or the internet.

Days had passed.... I felt more and more tired. My couldn't open like they used to before. Probably because of the lake of sleep I've gotten. I turned off my laptop trying to get away from the screen. Soon after I fell asleep. I then awoke craving to read the book. It was the middle of the night but I couldn't resist the temptation.

I open up the book and was enjoying it. For the first time a book is interesting to me. It was like taking me into a whole different world.

I then place the book down on my desk. I left the book open on the last page. I felt sleepy again so I shut my eyes.

I open my eyes to see myself not on my bed but on grass.

"Do I sleep walk now?" I said

"Where—am I?"

I staggered trying to get up.

My eyes were twinkling with excitement.

There were unique different type of animals and plants. I seriously was taken aback.

Butterflies with astonishing abnormal wings. Deers with horns that look like vines. Bunnies with mushrooms growing from there ears. Plants that are oddly shape, vibrant colors that never been seen before. Trees with all kinds of fruits that I've never seen either.

Then my eyes spotted a cat with a fur coat color with the lightest shade of pink. I just had to pet it! I tried to come closer to it.

It realized what I was trying to do and ran away.

"How smart and dumb of you! I could've gave you a life of laziness and affection!" I said angrily then stormed off.

After a while, I heard loud crowds and noises from somewhere. I wanted to check it out.

I kept on walking and I found myself in a village full of people and deliciously looking food. The music, people cheering, and children laughing. Now this is a vacation!

I had some food from the vendors before closing. Since they had to many leftovers they gave me some for free.

My tastebuds were tingling like never before. I ate something that felt like shouldn't have never been eaten by a human. It tasted so unreal in a good way.

I was enjoying my freshly made food.
Suddenly I had a feeling someone was looking at me.

Then a guy wearing a black cloak came up to me.

"What are you doing here princess?" He said in a worried tone.

To be continued.

Thank you for reading!
I hope you are enjoying so far!
