Chapter 6 - The Flash Is Born

Jitters

To understand what I'm about to tell you, you need to do something first.

You need to believe in the impossible.

Can you do that?

Good, because all of us, we have forgotten what miracles look like.

Maybe because they haven't made much of an appearance lately.

Our lives have become ordinary, but there is someone out there who is truly extraordinary.

I don't know where you came from.

I don't know your name, but I have seen you do the impossible to protect the city I love.

So for those of us who believe in you and what you're doing, I just want to say thank you.

Barry quickly ran into Jitters as the Flash or 'Streak', whatever, and sped Iris to the roof as I sat on the roof edge and she gasps at me never knowing there was another speedster.

"You're welcome." Barry and I said distorting out voices so that she won't recognize us from outside of our suits.

"How did you........... and.......Who are you?" Iris said looking at us then looks at me especially.

"The name's Violet. Love." I said winking at Iris teasingly and she rolls her eyes at me. Barry looked at me through he's suit and distorted face and mask with a raised eyebrow as I smirked chaotically.

"I literally just hit send." Iris said as I just sat and let Barry do all the talking not wanting to much attention since it was night and I was sooo fucking tired.

"Speed reading." Barry said with a bit of an excited voice.

"It's crazy what you both can do to your voice." Iris said totally ignoring the point Barry's trying to make.

"You need to stop writing your blog." Barry said getting stricter.

"People need to know that you exist."

[Iris Phone ringing and She Declines It]

"What else can you both do?" Iris said looking at Barry and I as I looked at Barry and indicated that I was tired and he could go on.

"This is not an interview." Barry said strictly.

"Come on. You got to give me something. Hobbies, pet peeves, favorite color? Wait, scratch that last one. Red and Violet literally! Duh, obviously." Iris said going on and on and on about questions and I mentally facepalmed

"You're not hearing me." Barry said raising his voice a bit so that she could stop.

 "My hearing is fine. It's just selective. What should I call you?" Iris said  changing of subject.

"Anything but The Streak." Barry said sighing.

"Fine. Suggestions?" Iris said while raising an eyebrow.

"You said you were writing about me to bring hope to someone you care about. How would he feel if doing that put you in harm's way?" Barry said slowly trying to not expose himself.

"He and I aren't exactly on the same page these days." Iris said as I sigh knowing it will be soon for Tony to make his first appearance. Standing up from the roof edge, I stretched a bit looking at them sleepily

"Besides, you guys are giving hope to a lot of people, so I'm doing this for them."  Iris said looking at me as I raised an eyebrow

[Sirens blaring made Barry look back]
