"Whaaaat?!? You found your soulmate?!"
Ichika had to put some distance from her phone from hearing her best friend, Rika shout.
"Yeah, I did. And during our practice fight no less." Ichika said with a weary chuckle.
Ichika was already in her room, twirling her hair as she chatted with her close friend since preschool. She had filled her in on how they met, the misunderstanding they had, and how they resolved it.
"Oh my god! Tell me more! Okay, you guys talked it out and all that. And then what?"
"Well, not much. We took the subway together. I think we live somewhat nearby, my stop was the one after his." Ichika shared.
"Yeah, that's all nice and great but I'm talking about romance! Did anything else happen between the two?"
"Hmmmm...." Ichika pondered. "Oh! We're on a first name basis already."
"That's it? You're usually on first name basis with most of our classmates by the end of the semester. That's not exactly special for you." Rika replied, disappointment clear in her voice.
Her best friend was right, Ichika would easily befriend most of her classmates in the past so it wasn't uncommon ground. She had also already became on first name basis with Mina as well.
"This is different than being friends, Ichika!" Rika exclaimed. "You have to be flirty and affectionate with him."
"I know this is different than being friends, but I've never been in a relationship. That's why I'm calling the expert!" Ichika said cheekily.
"What do you mean expert? I've only been in four relationships." Rika replied.
"Ha, yeah 4 relationships a year maybe." Ichika joked.
She was exaggerating of course but her friend did have her fair share of romance knowledge.
"Hahaha! You liar!" Rika laughed, not taking offense. The two had been friends for far too long and were used to taking jabs at the other.
"Going on a couple of dates is not a relationship, girl." Rika said, lightheartedly.
"Yeah, I know. If that counted then I'd had been in two relationships." Ichika replied.
Although Ichika had never been in a relationship, she had gone on three dates. She had always been very popular. Guys would ask her out often but she always declined.
As much as she disliked her soulmate mark, she still felt she should wait for her soulmate. But after seeing most of her friends going on dates and telling her how great it is, she decided to try out going on a date. Her first date had been extremely dull, the conversation had been bland and she felt no attraction for the guy. Her friends suggested on going on a date with someone else and the result had been the same. They insisted that she may need another date with the same guy to get to know him better but after a second date, it was the same boring experience.
Her friends were confused as to why it had gone like that when the two guys were seen as handsome and charming but Ichika had no interest in either.
They would tell her that it may be because of her soulmate mark that every other guy just seems unappealing.
She didn't know either, there was not much information about soulmates as only 20% of the population had soulmates and there were a variety of soulmates marks.
"But seriously, what should I do?" Ichika says, getting back to the main subject. "We solved the misunderstanding between us but I don't know how I should approach him. I'm not sure if we're friends now or what exactly we are."
