The next morning I don't have to put so much in my car, so I take my time to eat breakfast and then head over to get my brothers. I haven't told them that they will be spending the weekend with Brayden and I. Brayden and I. That's a crazy statement.

I think they will be excited. Hopefully they will be. Elijah may be upset and grumpy but he will get over it.

When I arrived, I parked on the side, and got out. Hopefully, this won't be long. "Guys!" I called out.

"In here!" Caleb's soft little voice screamed from his room. I walked to his room only to be stopped by my own blood, my father.

I gulped as I started at his blood shut eyes and I could smell the alcohol from here. Thank God I'm getting them out of here for the weekend.

"Nora, h-hey." His sloppy voice spoke.

I cleared my voice before speaking, "hey."

"How are you?" he asked.

"Good," I kept it short, just wanting to get out of here.

"That's good. So, do you think I could borrow some money?" He asked getting right to the point. I knew it.

"I don't have any on me right now." Even if I did I still wouldn't give it to him.

"That's okay, I can do a card." He smiled.

I wanted to roll my eyes, but I held myself down and didn't. "Sorry, don't have anything on it." I lied.

I walked past him and into my younger brother's room. Elijah and Caleb sat on the floor playing with Lego. Caleb looked like he was the happiest kid in the world, while Elijah looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here. Me too kid. Me too.

"Hey guys, so I have something excited to tell you." I sniffed, sitting on my knees.

Caleb looked up from his lego's and smiled at me. "What is it sis?"

"So we are going to spend the weekend with Brayden. He invited us to his football game." I told them, brushing Caleb's long locks out of his face. He needs a haircut. Hopefully one of the guys can do that this weekend.

"Really!" Caleb jumped up with joy while Elijah had a smirk lying on his face. Thank God they were happy.

"So let's hurry and pack. Okay?" They both nodded and grabbed their busted suitcases.

I helped them pack their clothing and hygiene stuff. I didn't pack them any shampoo or anything like that because I just figured they could use Brayden's.

By the time we got out of there, not bumping into my father this time, it has been in an hour. Then it took another hour to drive there. When we reached Brayden's house, I pulled in my rusted old car with the new one's. "Okay, be on your best behavior." I said.

"Wow. This is a big house." Caleb said, and I mentally agreed. I texted Brayden to tell him that I'm here. A minute later, he is rushing out the door to help.

"Brayden!" Caleb screamed and ran into his arms.

"Hey dude!" Brayden held him while carrying some of our bags.

"I got it sis," Elijah told me, taking my bags from my hands.

"Are you sure?" I asked. He nodded.

"Wait Elijah, can I speak with you?" I asked him. He sighed and nodded his head, leaning against my car. I grab my bags out of his hands and place them back inside my truck for our talk.

"I just wanted to say that I appreciate everything you are doing while I'm gone. I know it has been hard on you, especially at such a young age. And if dad ever tries something, call me right away. Once I graduate, I'm going to get a nice paying job and take you two away from him, okay?" I complemented.

Elijah looks at the ground and then up back at me before nodding. I move in and hug him. "Thank you for everything you are doing for us." Elijah speaks softly. Which almost makes me wanna cry.

I sniff before kissing his forehead and moving away. Elijah grabs my bags and we move inside. "We need to get you and Caleb both haircuts this weekend." Elijah laughs and walks inside.

Once we get the boys settled, it's about lunch time so Brayden and I take them over to the diner we went to last night. I didn't mind going to the same place, in fact, I wanted to take them so they can experience this at a young age. It was the coolest diner ever.

After that we come back to the house. Caleb fell asleep in the car, so Brayden carried him up to the guest room.

~

"Okay, just sit here and let me get my stuff." Blake rushes out of the room to grab his "barber kit". (His words, not mine).

Elijah sits down on the kitchen table chair. "Does he have experience?" he asks.

"Yeah he does. He cut mine before." Brayden reassures him. Elijah sighs and then nods.

"Good luck kid." Carter, who's name I recently learned.

"Carter!" Bryaden warns. Carter rolls his eyes and walks out of the room, away from us. He is a grumpy person.

Blake comes back when Carter leaves with a black bag in hand. He smacks the bag down on the table with a loud bang, making everyone flinch. "Okay, what are we thinking?" Blake asks.

Elijah explains what he wants before Blake starts.

A loud cry rings through the house. I stand up, rushing to the guest room where we are staying. I open the door as quickly as I can. Caleb, with a red face, looks around the room confused.

My voice quivers, "honey, what's wrong?" I couldn't handle this.
"N-n." Caleb stuttered out of breath.

I grab him, putting him in my arms. "Shhh," I comfort him.

"What happened hun?" I asked him once again.
