Su Nianjiao pressed her lips together and said, "I heard that the sect leader wants us to bring back at least three people with spiritual roots and excellent talent to join the Yaohai Sect. Cousin is one of them. Tomorrow, the senior brother will select others from your family."

Zhuge Buliang looked down in silence, his eyes flickering. After a moment, he smiled and said, "Nianjiao, how do you feel about me?"

"Hmm, very well. Especially the bangs you trimmed for me—they look very pretty~~" The little girl brushed her bangs and smiled.

"Then do you like me? Do you hope to be with me every day?" Yi Tian's eyes sparkled with a strange light, enticingly.

Su Nianjiao looked at Zhuge Buliang strangely, her face flushed red. Pouting, she said, "I want to chat with you every day, but... but I already have a prince charming in my heart and can't accommodate anyone else. Why are you saying this...." As she spoke, her cheeks turned rosy, and she covered her face with her hands.

"Uh... you silly child, what are you thinking!" Zhuge Buliang's face alternated between blue and white, thinking, "You think I'm interested in this young girl? Although she's beautiful, she's still a green apple. I'm not interested. I just want..."

Clearing his throat, Zhuge Buliang said, "Nianjiao, I didn't mean that. Whether you have a prince charming or a pig prince doesn't concern me. I want you to ask your senior brother if he can take me to the Yaohai Sect for cultivation. Then I can be with you every day~~~"

"You want to cultivate!" Su Nianjiao, being very perceptive, was surprised.

Zhuge Buliang nodded seriously. As long as he became a cultivator, no one would dare to look down on him anymore. He would no longer suffer from others' disdain and would become someone important.

Su Nianjiao said, "It's not impossible to bring you into the Yaohai Sect, but we need to see if you have spiritual roots. If you don't, even I can't help you."

"Just ask your senior brother for me," Zhuge Buliang pleaded.

Su Nianjiao hesitated for a moment and then nodded. "Alright, I'll talk to my senior brother and have him check your spiritual roots when he inspects the Zhuge family's children tomorrow."

After chatting with Su Nianjiao for a while, she left.

Zhuge Buliang was extremely excited. After long anticipation, cultivation was finally within reach. He had been mistreated in his family over the years and longed to rise above others. Once he became a cultivator, his status would be different, and no one would dare to look down on him. He would show those who had looked down on him!

Walking into the courtyard, which was filled with many stone locks and other physical training equipment designed by Zhuge Buliang himself, he reflected on his training. Despite the unexpected reincarnation, Zhuge Buliang had never given up on his physical training. In his past life, he graduated from a sports university and was a skilled underground boxer. He knew the importance of physical agility.

He believed that even in cultivation, a strong physique was essential.

The stone locks whirred through the air in Zhuge Buliang's hands. Although he was only fifteen, his physique was robust, easily lifting weights of a hundred jin and running as swiftly as a galloping horse.

The next day, after a heavy rain the previous night, the morning air was exceptionally fresh.

Zhuge Bulang learned that Su Nianjiao's senior would be testing the family's young members at the family's training grounds to see who possessed the talent for cultivating immortality. After a brief grooming, Zhuge Bulang made his way to the training grounds.

The family estate was vast, and it took him over twenty minutes to reach the training grounds, which were now crowded. Besides the family members, some distant relatives had also brought their children, hoping to have them selected by the Yao Hai Sect. If someone from their family became an immortal cultivator, they would gain great respect and power, even from the Tianyuan Dynasty.

Zhuge Bulang's arrival drew the attention of many family members. He was the lowest-ranking among the family's descendants, with his father having seventeen concubines, making him among the least esteemed. Some family members mocked him, questioning his presence and suggesting he had no chance of being selected due to his low status and perceived lack of talent.

As Zhuge Bulang walked through the crowd, he overheard their scornful remarks and vowed to repay their contempt in the future, once he became an immortal cultivator.

On the high platform at the training grounds sat the family head, Zhuge Songtao, a formidable and imposing figure with a stern expression. He had once studied with the Yao Hai Sect and had significant connections with the Tianyuan Dynasty due to his military achievements.

Zhuge Bulang glanced up at the high platform, where Zhuge Songtao looked down with a gaze that seemed indifferent and contemptuous.

"Father, it's him!" A handsome youth beside Zhuge Songtao, Zhuge Ming, the eldest son, said in a low voice. Zhuge Ming, around sixteen or seventeen, had an air of distinction and arrogance.

Zhuge Songtao looked at Zhuge Bulang and their eyes met. Zhuge Bulang, unbothered, turned and walked away with a casual demeanor.

"Humph! Unworthy, mingling with the dregs of society," Zhuge Songtao said coldly. Zhuge Ming smiled slightly and descended from the platform.

"Zhuge Bulang," Zhuge Ming called out to him.

"What is it, big brother?" Despite his dislike, Zhuge Bulang acknowledged Zhuge Ming as his elder brother.

Zhuge Ming's eyes were filled with disdain as he said, "You came here to make a scene, thinking of joining the Yao Hai Sect, don't you?"

"Yes, that's my intention," Zhuge Bulang admitted frankly.

"Humph!" Zhuge Ming sneered. "You're deluding yourself. Don't forget your status. You're just a branch family member, not suited for such matters. Immortality cultivation is a serious affair not meant for someone of your status. Even if you're a mere servant, you dare to dream of achieving the path of cultivation?"

"Just because you can doesn't mean others can't. There's no rule that says status determines one's ability to cultivate," Zhuge Bulang shrugged indifferently.

Zhuge Ming arrogantly replied, "The Yao Hai Sect's immortals have said I am talented and have outstanding spiritual roots, making me a prime candidate for cultivation. Compared to me, you're nothing. Look around, these are the family's talents, yet few are as exceptional as me. You're not even close, you lowly branch member!"

"You being talented doesn't make you special. Isn't it just a matter of a little extra ego?" Zhuge Bulang chuckled, never backing down in a verbal spar.
