Stormy night (demigod AU)

It was a stormy night at Camp half-blood.

Ash (who's secretly terrified of storms) was laying in bed shaking. She couldn't sleep because of the roaring storm. She missed her 'best friend'. Why the ' you may ask. Well she didn't know if they were just friends they were pretty close, sometimes Mallie even kissed her goodnight so she was confused and the fact she was crushing on the Hephaestus girl didn't help.

She hated being alone, Mallie would've probably cracked a joke if she were here to make her feel better.

It was dumb. It was stupid, but before she knew she was knocking on the door to cabin 9. Mallie opened the door. Her hands had small patches of paint. Red, pink a little bit of yellow. Ash wondered how her hand would feel in hers. She snapped out of her trance, when Mallie gripped her shirt and pulled her inside.

Ash paused when she was inside she stared at Mallie dog- I mean gods she's beautiful.

“What're you doing here?” Mallie smiled standing in her Nike sports bra and sweatpants. Hot.

“I- I was alone in my cabin and I thought I wanted to see you” she wasn't lying but she wasn't telling the truth, but she wasn't lying either. Thunder roared outside making her jump.

Mallie softened not bothering to hide a cute smile at her friend, “I'll hand you some clothes” Mallie walked deeper into the cabin over to her closet pulling fresh clothes out of it.

Ash didn't bother to look around, her eyes were fixated on the blonde. Her mind was running- no dashing miles an hour thinking about the fact her best friend -crush- was letting her borrow some of her clothes that probably smelled like her -that sounded wrong but it was true- Ash loved the smell of Malls' shampoo. After the countless number of times she got a single whiff of her sweet scent she got addicted.

“You look like a wet puppy asking for shelter” Mallie joked getting a laugh from she small brunette, she handed her fresh clothes. “You can change in the bathroom over there” she pointed to a door with a sign on it with a circle.

Ash took the clothes and muttered a flustered “thanks”

Ash walked out of the girls bathroom, Mallies' camp half-blood shirt reached down mid-thig while the shorts were barely visible. Mallies' jaw almost hit the floor at the sight, she looked so small, so cute and..
vulnerable. Her heart swelled, her mind went straight into 'cuteness overload' mode.

“it's a little big” Ash muttered looking down at herself before looking up in time for Mallie to hide her blush. A flash of thunder broke the silence between them. Ash flinched.

“Are you scared?” Mallie asked quietly as if she didn't want anyone hearing even if they were alone.

“What, no” Ash was a bad liar, you didn't need a rocket scientist to figure that out. Mallie walked over to her bed and sat down on the edge patting the spot beside her. Ash didn't waste a second, she sat beside the blonde who took her into a tight hug. Ash felt like she was in a bubble she quickly forgot about the thunder storm outside and just let herself melt in the girl she was in love withs' arms.

Mallie held Ashley in her arms feeling her tense at every strike of the storm “shh it's okay, I'm here, you're safe with me” she layed down further on her bed with the small brunette on her chest. She pulled the blanket upon them building a bigger cocoon.

Ash looked up. Mallie leaned down planting a kiss on the top of her head. Ash hid herself deeper in the blonds' neck trying to hide the crimson on her face. She muttered a barely hearable,

"I love you"

"I love you too" the blonde whispered back.

Ash looked up in a mix of shock and adoration, her eyes sparkling with love.

Then Mallie finally did it, she kissed her. Ash was surprised at first but quickly melted into it. Mallies hand held her cheek. Ash had never felt this much butterflies in her life, Mallies was the only thing on her mind. Her hand automatically went to cup Mallies cheek. Their lips together were like two ends of a puzzle finally coming together. After what felt like an eternity they parted slightly.

Ash smiled "girlfriend, girlfriend?" Mallie smiled widly "girlfriend, girlfriend" she confirmed an unstoppable smile on her face.

"Can you do the fire thing?" Ash pleaded.

Mallies chuckled "I'll do the fire thing" Mallies took out her hand and opened her palm creating a small floating flame in the air. She turned out the light. Ash quickly fell asleep on her now girlfriends' chest.

Mallies looked down at Ash internally promising herself to protect her from anything that could ever hurt her. She kissed the top of her head one last time.

"Goodnight love"
