Y/N's POV:

The morning light streamed softly through my curtains, warming my face and gently pulling me from sleep. I blinked my eyes open and looked around my room. It was quiet. Too quiet. The events of last night rushed back to me, and I turned my head, expecting to see Peri sitting in the chair by my bed or leaning against the wall, but he wasn't there.

"Peri?" I called out softly, my voice still hoarse with sleep. There was no answer.

I sat up, glancing around my room, half-expecting him to pop into existence like he always did. "Peri?" I called again, a bit louder this time, feeling a tiny flicker of worry. "Where are you?"

Just as I was about to get out of bed, a familiar burst of shimmering light appeared, and there he was, standing at the foot of my bed with that mischievous smile of his. "Miss me, Starshine?"

I couldn't help but smile. "You could say that. Where did you go?"

"Just running some fairy errands," he said, waving a hand dismissively. "Nothing too exciting. But I'm here now. Did you sleep well?"

I nodded, my worry fading away as I looked into his eyes. "Yeah, I did. Thanks to you, I think. How about you?"

Peri shrugged, his eyes sparkling with a playfulness I was getting used to. "You know fairies don't need much sleep. But I did take a nap on a cloud for a bit."

I laughed at the mental image . "Must be nice," I teased. "I could use one of those right about now."

He grinned, sitting down on the edge of my bed. "Well, if you want, I could make it happen."

"I think I'll stick to my bed for now," I said with a chuckle. We sat in comfortable silence for a moment before I remembered something I'd been meaning to ask him.  I really wanted to do something fun for once after the incident with my parents "Peri, do you want to spend the day with me today, just us two?"

Peri was very happy that I suggested that and responded with a smile: "Sure! Whatever you want. Do you maybe have a favourite place? A safe space?"

I smiled, picturing my favorite place in my mind. "The ocean. Especially at sunset. There's just something about the way the colors reflect on the water and how the waves sound. It feels... calming."

Peri's eyes lit up. "The ocean at sunset, huh? That sounds pretty magical. You know, we could go there. Right now."

I blinked at him, surprised. "Really? I mean, it's morning. We'd have to wait until later."

He shook his head, grinning. "Not with me around. We can be there in an instant. I'll take us there this evening, just as the sun is setting. What do you say?"

My heart leaped with excitement. "I'd love that."

Evening:

The sky was painted with hues of orange, pink, and purple as the sun began its descent. We stood on the edge of the beach, the ocean stretching out before us, the waves gently lapping at the shore. I took a deep breath, feeling the salty breeze brush against my face. It was perfect.

Peri stood beside me in his human disguise just in case, his hands in his pockets, his eyes scanning the horizon. "You were right, Starshine. This place is amazing."

I glanced over at him, smiling. "Thank you for bringing me here."

He looked at me, his expression softening. "Anything for you."

We walked along the shore, the sand cool beneath our feet. The water sparkled under the dying light of the sun, creating a path of shimmering gold that led straight to the horizon. It felt like we were in a dream, the world around us glowing with an ethereal light. I finally felt at peace.
