Y/N's POV:

The moonlight filtered through the canopy of leaves, casting silvery shadows across the forest floor. As Peri and I walked away from the magical tree, our hands still entwined, the forest seemed to hold its breath, every rustle and whisper heightened in the stillness of the night.

Unbeknownst to us, Cosmo and Wanda hovered invisibly among the treetops, their eyes wide with concern as they listened to the conversation unfolding beneath them. Their once playful demeanor was replaced with a serious, almost anxious focus.

Cosmo and Wandas POV:

Wanda's voice was barely a whisper, filled with worry. "Cosmo, did you hear that? Peri was asking the tree about his feelings for Y/N. This isn't just a simple crush; he's clearly very invested."

Cosmo nodded, his usually carefree expression turned thoughtful. "Yeah, I heard. But, Wanda, we've seen how these things turn out. Fairies and humans... it's usually not a match made in heaven."

Wanda sighed, her worry deepening. "Exactly. And Peri, he's our son. We want him to be happy, but we also don't want him to get hurt. What if this relationship with Y/N is just setting him up for disappointment? And the rules... they clearly say that this a relationship between a fairy and a human is forbitten and may have consequences..."

Cosmo floated closer to Wanda, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "But he looks so happy when he's with her. I've never seen him like this before. Maybe we're overthinking it. Maybe it's worth a shot."

Wanda shook her head, her eyes reflecting the moonlight. "It's not just about being happy, Cosmo. There are rules and consequences. We've seen it before—relationships between fairies and humans often end in heartbreak or worse. We need to find a way to handle this carefully."

The couple fell silent, contemplating the gravity of the situation. Wanda's heart ached at the thought of Peri's potential heartache, while Cosmo was torn between his desire to support his son and his own fears of the unknown.

Y/N's POV - back at home

As Peri and I emerged from the forest, our laughter and soft conversation seemed to create a bubble of joy around us, a stark contrast to the tension that lingered just beyond our happy cocoon. The night had been magical, a perfect escape from the reality I had been grappling with. My heart felt lighter than it had in days, the enchantment of the forest and Peri's presence filling me with a sense of wonder I hadn't experienced before.

"Tonight was... perfect," Peri said, his voice warm and sincere. His gaze held a tenderness that made my cheeks flush. "I'm glad we had this time together."

"I never thought I'd experience something so magical," I replied, smiling back at him, my heart fluttering at his affection. "Thank you, Peri."

As we reached my house, I felt a pang of sadness. I wished he could stay longer. "I'll see you tomorrow?" I asked, hoping for a glimpse of reassurance.

"Definitely," Peri said, his eyes glinting with a mixture of hope and something else I couldn't quite place.

Just as Peri was about to leave, I noticed a shift in the air. Before I could process what was happening, Cosmo and Wanda appeared in front of him, their usual playful demeanor replaced by a serious expression. They were invisible before, but now they were right there, their concern palpable.

"Peri," Wanda began, her voice edged with worry, "we need to talk."

Peri looked surprised, his eyes widening as he saw his parents. "Mom? Dad? What's wrong?"

"MOM? ...DAD?" I thought clearly not knowing what is going on.

Peri looked at me worried : "Ehm .. sorry Y/N .. could you excuse me for a minute please..?" I stepped aside and went into my house so they can have some privacy.

Cosmo floated closer with an awkward look on his face. "We overheard what you asked the tree. About your feelings for Y/N."

Peri's face fell, his shoulders slumping slightly. "I didn't mean for you to hear. I was just trying to understand my feelings."

Wanda's expression softened, but the worry didn't leave her eyes. "Peri, we want you to be happy, but fairies and humans... it's complicated. We just don't want you to get hurt."

Peri looked down, his eyes troubled. "I know the risks, but what if this is different? What if Y/N and I can make it work?"

Cosmo sighed, floating closer with a hint of sympathy. "We want to believe that too. But we have to be cautious. We don't want you to face the same punishment we've seen before."

Peri looked up, determination etched in his features. "I appreciate your concern, but this is something I need to figure out on my own. Y/N means a lot to me, and I'm willing to take that risk."

Wanda and Cosmo exchanged worried glances, their concern mingled with a reluctant understanding. "Alright," Wanda said softly, "we'll support you, but we ask that you be careful and think about the consequences."

Peri nodded, his face reflecting a mix of relief and apprehension. "Thank you. I'll be careful."

As Cosmo and Wanda vanished, Peri stood there for a moment, lost in thought. I watched from inside the house, my heart aching with a mix of curiosity and concern. I sensed something had shifted, something important. I hoped that whatever was happening would be resolved soon, so Peri and I could continue our journey together without the shadow of uncertainty hanging over us.
