The Deadly Reunion

Chapter 5

As I woke up because of my alarm I nearly fell off my bed."DAISY ! we're freaking late " as Daisy heard my voice she stood upright in half sleep as if she was possessed but I didn't had the time to laugh at her situation. Once we hurriedly freshened up and changed our clothes we took up our baggage and Sora of course , locked the door and ran to catch a taxi . The taxi driver must be thinking that we're some crazy girls running from the mental asylum , well he may be wrong about Daisy but I think that if he thought that about me then he isn't wrong ,
" could you please hurry sir , we're already late , I hope that  we don't miss our train !" after Daisy said that , the taxi driver sped the engine and took us to our destination.

As we rushed to the station, praying our train wouldn't leave without us, the adrenaline coursed through my veins. We finally made it, breathless and flustered, and found our seats just as the train was departing.

As we settled in, Daisy turned to me with a mischievous grin. "So, Stats, what's the plan for Oakdale?"

I shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant despite my growing anxiety. "Just get through the reunion, I guess."

Sora, sensing my unease, nuzzled my hand, and I stroked her soft fur, finding comfort in her presence.

As the train rumbled on, Daisy and I chatted about everything and nothing, our conversation flowing easily. But as the the time  passed, Daisy's eyelids began to droop, and she eventually fell asleep, her head resting on my shoulder.

I gazed out the window, watching the countryside roll by, and my mind began to wander. Memories of Ellisa and our time in Oakdale flooded my thoughts, and I felt a pang of nostalgia. I don't even remember when was the last time I traveled in a train maybe when I came to Maple Ridge in grief and guilt. Me and Ellisa always used to enjoy the train rides , discovering the hidden parts of Oakdale and the beautiful memories we shared together , she went away leaving such an impact on my life and I still wonder that how amazing it would have been if only I had spent my summer break with her in Oakdale 5 years ago rather than going to vacation with my mother , God knows if she was going through something , something which she would want to share with me but I was busy enjoying my time while my friend suffered alone .

I glanced down at Daisy, her face peaceful in sleep, and felt grateful for her presence in my life. She had no idea what I was going through, but she was here for me, supporting me unconditionally.

As I looked around the train car, I noticed the other passengers, each lost in their own worlds. Some were reading, others listening to music, and a few simply staring out the window, like me.

I wondered what their stories were, what struggles they faced, and what memories they held dear. Were they, like me, haunted by their pasts, or were they looking forward to the future?

The train rumbled on, a steady heartbeat, and I felt my eyelids growing heavy. I leaned my head back, Sora still by my side, and let the rhythm of the train lull me into a fitful sleep, memories of Oakdale and Ellisa swirling in my mind like a bittersweet dream.

" Daisy-Daisy wake up , look we're here , in
Oakdale " I said gently waking her up . " Holy mother of cheese , this place is hella beautiful , God !!! " as Daisy said this a smile appeared on my face , a smile which was genuine, a smile which I felt from my heart and soul , it was like she was praising me not my town .
As we took our luggage and of course Sora we went out of the vintage station , the weather allying with the vintage look , cloudy wether but not cold , something I always loved about this place . " So unfortunate that you had to run from a place like this , a literal heaven— " as Daisy said this she realised what she just uttered from her mouth " I am so very sorry Staisy , Yo-" I interrupted her in between " Girl , it's fine I know you did not mean it that way , let's just forget this thing !" as I said this Daisy gave me an apologetic look .

As we reached our destination aka the house which my mom arranged for me , Daisy went to take a bath while I talked to my mom about the necessary arrangements of food and certain essentials , that's when I heard a knock on the door , the knock sent shivers down my spine , hesitantly I went to open my door and there he was standing—-"Hello! we meet again"
