The moon was high in the sky as Daisy and I approached the old bridge, our footsteps crunching on the gravel path leading up to it. The night air was crisp, and the distant sound of the river below created an eerie backdrop. We were both anxious and excited; the note had hinted at crucial information, but the mysterious sender remained unknown.

"This place feels like it's straight out of a thriller novel," Daisy said, her eyes scanning the darkened area. "Let's be cautious."

I nodded, scanning the surroundings for any sign of movement. The bridge was old and creaky, its wooden planks weathered by time. The dim light from the occasional streetlamp cast long shadows, adding to the suspense of our clandestine meeting.

We reached the middle of the bridge, where the note had instructed us to wait. As we stood there, the sound of footsteps approaching made our hearts race. We turned to see a figure emerging from the darkness.

The person was cloaked in a dark coat and hat, their face obscured by the brim of their hat. "Are you Daisy and Staisy ?" the figure asked, their voice muffled.

"Yes, we are," I replied cautiously. "Who are you, and what do you have for us?"

The figure stepped into the light, revealing a middle-aged man with graying hair and a concerned expression. "I'm Thomas Reed. I used to work for 'Future Horizons' before I left under... troubling circumstances. I have information that could help you, but it's dangerous."

Daisy and I exchanged looks. "Why should we trust you?" Daisy asked.

Thomas sighed. "I understand your hesitation. My departure from 'Future Horizons' was not on good terms. I was involved in several confidential projects, including the one you're investigating. When I saw the news about Ellisa's death and realized the connection to my past work, I knew I had to come forward."

"Alright," I said. "What do you know about the special project and its connections to Ellisa's murder?"

Thomas pulled out a folder from his coat and handed it to us. "This contains documents related to the special project. From what I can gather, it involves illicit activities that 'Future Horizons' was involved in, including money laundering and illegal transactions. Ellisa must have stumbled upon these activities."

We took the folder and began reviewing the contents. The documents detailed a series of transactions and secret meetings involving high-profile individuals, including Rebecca Dason and Gregory Lane. There were mentions of large sums of money being funneled through various shell companies and accounts.

"This confirms what we suspected," Daisy said, pointing to a document showing a transaction between 'Future Horizons' and Silvercrest Enterprises. "Gregory Lane's company is directly linked to this operation."

Thomas nodded. "Yes. And from what I know, Rebecca and Gregory were using the charity as a front for their activities. Ellisa's death was likely an attempt to silence her when she got too close to the truth."

I looked at Thomas. "Why did you leave 'Future Horizons'? What made you come forward now?"

Thomas's expression grew somber. "I left after I discovered the extent of their illegal activities and was threatened when I tried to expose them. I went into hiding, but seeing the ongoing corruption and realizing the innocent lives affected pushed me to act. I couldn't stay silent any longer, especially after seeing Ellisa's case."

We thanked Thomas for his bravery and the information he provided. He warned us to be careful and advised us to proceed with caution, as the individuals we were dealing with were dangerous and had significant resources.

After Thomas left, Daisy and I discussed our next steps. We knew that the documents would be crucial in building our case against Rebecca and Gregory, but we also needed to gather more evidence and potentially involve law enforcement.
