"Lilly. I think it's time we talked. I have let you say whatever you wanted to say to Denara about my family. You have manipulated the situation, and I have said nothing because I respect your daughter," I say blatantly bluntly.

Not bothering to knock and badging into Lilly's office. Ever since her mother came to the house their house. There has been sadness in the air and as much as Denara claims, she is fine. I can see that she isn't.

"Look at what the rats brought in. How dare you barge in here without consent, you insolent child! Who let you in?!" she yells out in frustration. Her eyes widened at my appearance.

She frantically moves around the desk. Her demeanor is composed, but there is a hint of nervousness in her eyes. She has probably heard that I can be a loose cannon at times with my problematic temper. She grabs the landline and tries to call security. I grab the phone from her and slam it down. I am not leaving here until we solve whatever this.

"I didn't come here to fight. Lily, I know that I'm unworthy of your daughter. "

She scoffs and pulls something under her breath, but I'm sure that isn't anything pleasant, but I ignore her. She puts some distance between us and crosses her arms over her chest. She sits on the couch and gestures for me to continue. I'm surprised that she's even attempting to listen to me.

"I love your daughter more than anything in this world. You view me as unworthy and maybe I am, but I will do anything to make it. them happy." She cuts me off with her laughter.

"Happiness? Boy, do you realize something like that only lasts a moment? You can't even sustain yourself, let alone another person. I am doing this for my daughter's own good. Wealth is what will take her far and pay for everything. All you can offer is mere dust." She antagonizes.

She shakes her head in disbelief and continues to laugh. I know that compared to them; I have nothing. She views me as a speck of dirt on her show that isn't worthy at all to even be there. I can't believe how different mother and daughter are.

"Are we done here?" She asks with finality. She gets up from the couch and looks at me expectantly. Her eyes moved between the door and me.

"You will never learn, and happiness is something you're incapable of! Denara is better off without you! We will be better off without you! Rhys doesn't need a toxic grandmother in her life and we can manage her simple life. Screw whatever plans you have and screw you!" I spit out venomously.

I make my way towards the door and stop in my tracks. Danny opens the door and walks in. His eyes move between Lilly and I. It firmly lands on Lily and his lips pull into a tight line. He stays at the door frame and doesn't allow me to leave. He holds a hand up and stops me from talking. Lilly looks shocked to see him as well.

"Danny, do what do I the pleasure to?" She asks gently eyes brimming with warmth at the sight of him. Nothing compared to the hatred look in her eyes I received moments ago.

"Look Lilly, Arawn is right. You did more than enough for everyone." He mumbles out bitterly, eyes briefly meeting mine.

"You can't destroy everyone's lives for your own selfish motive. You understand that you Laurant industry isn't under your name to give and take in the first place. The dynasty belongs to your late husband and, albeit you have a stake, it is not more than your late husband's. Since Denara is a sole inheritor and child for you both. You have qualms in this company." He lets out formally.

He moves forward calmly and hands a folder to Lilly. There is no ounce of emotion on his face. The person in front of me is nothing compared to the Danny I know. He actually looks intimidating in business mode, but he doesn't scare me.
