4 days later, Hunter and Audrey broke up. The poor girl was in tears all day. But Sara and Tiffani didn't care. She told me to ask him out right after 7th period that day.
Let me just tell you, it wasn't gonna be easy to just go up to him and ask him out. Tiffani suggested that I write him a note. But Sara reminded her that he could show it to his friends. In the end, we decided that I would ask him in person.
After 7th period, Sara and Tiffani told Hunter that I had something important to tell him. Then they dragged my ass over to his locker.
"Umm, hi." I said awkwardly
"Hey" he said "are you ok? You look kinda pale."
"Yup, I'm good," I said
"Sara and tiff said that you had to tell me something important to tell me? Pretty weird, I actually needed to talk to you too,"
"Yeah? What about?"
"I was gonna ask if you wanted to go out with me?"
My mouth was dry, my mind went blank, the little people in my head were running around, screaming "ABORT MISSION! I REPEAT ABORT MISSION!!!!"
Sara, Tiffani (and somehow Caryna had gotten there and she looked like she was about to explode) were staring at the scene with their mouths hanging open, waiting for my response.
"Yeah I would" I said
"Cool. So what did you wanna tell me?" As if he didn't know
"Never mind, it doesn't matter anymore."
Then he opened his arms for a hug, I guess, and Sara pushed me into him and I fell into his chest and I could hear his heart beating. When he helped me up for a real hug, I could feel the corner of his mouth on my ear, smiling.
