After finally starving herself out long enough, Rose decided to go to Shine Way Tavern. She got dressed in her ripped jeans and fitted black tank, paired with her simple sneakers. Leaving the motel was the easy part, she drove a few miles down the street until she spotted a gas station, pulling in she decided to fill up her car. "Oh god this pump is taking forever," she groaned out. Just as she finished pumping gas, a 1967 Chevy Impala pulled up on the other side of the pump. Rose could hear muffled music coming from the vehicle before a stunning man stepped out of the driver side. He was about 6'4 wearing a black leather jacket, and had piercing green eyes. His eyes landed on Rose, just as she pulled her receipt from the pump, he had a tiny almost unnoticeable smirk on his face as he looked her up and down. Rose gave a tiny smile before climbing into her vehicle, after pulling away from the pump she stopped at the edge of the parking lot. She glanced over her shoulder and the stunning stranger was casually leaning against his car while watching her drive away. Rose shook off the odd feeling the man gave her, and proceeded to the restaurant. Pulling into Shine Way Tavern, she parked at the end of the lot. Climbing out she fixed her hair, and quickly checked her makeup before locking her doors and making her way to the front entrance. Light music and laughter spilled out as a lovey dovey couple came out the door, holding it for Rose after they spotted her.
"Thanks," Rose said as she took a step inside. Wow... was all she could think. The place was modern for a small town. Rose could see small golden details throughout the room.
"Hello ma'am, welcome to Shine Way, how many today?" A younger looking woman asked as Rose made her way up to the counter.
"Hi, just one. Is it possible to sit at the bar?" Rose asked as she spotted a whole section of the bar stools empty.
"Sure thing!" Exclaimed the woman. "Head on in and pick a seat, Dax will be with you shortly."
Walking further into the restaurant, Rose headed for the empty part of the bar. She could feel numerous eyes on her as she passed different tables of patrons. After finally reaching the bar stools, Rose picked the second to last next to the wall. She felt it was out of the way from most people who'd want to converse but close enough she could grab a bite to eat and have a drink or two. Rose grabbed a menu off the stack behind the bar, hoping no one noticed. After about 5 minutes of looking through the numerous options, the bartender, assumingely Dax, came over to her.
Rose's cheeks burned bright red. I've seen you... she thought. Dax gave that smirk of his, "sorry about that wait doll, but what's a pretty thing like you doing here all alone?"
"I.. umm... mhm I came for a bite to eat, I'm ummm new to town," Rose replied as she stumbled over her words. This only caused Dax to grin.
"Well then doll, you've come to the right place. What can I get you to drink?" He waited for a reply.
"Surprise me, preferably something strong," said Rose.
"You got it Doll," Dax said before stalking off to the bottles at the other side of the bar. He poured her one of the taverns' specials. "Here you are," he said sliding a gorgeous looking drink in front of her, "Sex in the Driveway."
Not thinking her face could get any redder, it did. Rose thanked him for the drink before taking a sip. "This is perfect!" She exclaimed. He gave a light laugh before tapping the menu in front of her. "Oh right! Can I get an order of the garlic bread and whatever dish you recommend, I'm not picky and no allergies."
Dax walked off to put the order in, glancing at this stunning redhead sitting alone. He couldn't stop sneaking a look, she was too beautiful. Dax could tell she wasn't from the area, she had a big city air to her, she seemed so out of place in little ol' Whispering Pines.
