(pcitured is Jackson)

I had ended up staying in London after I ran into Kelsey and that guy at the airport. She had looked dead awful when I saw her and it worried me. I gave her a few weeks before I went to see her. As I walked up to her door I bit my lip. When I went to knock it flew open and the blonde boy stood there. “She’s in bed.” he said calmly.

Bed? At one in the evening? “Is she okay?” I asked quietly.

I don’t know why I said that of all things I could have replied with. “She’s not been feeling well for a while, but she’ll be fine.” he replied.

What was this guy’s name? I knew I met him before but I couldn’t put his face with a name. “Are you just going to stand there, Jackson, or are you coming in?” he said after a minute.

“Right. Sorry.” I said quietly, stepping past him.

Nick? No. Mick? No. Harry? No, that’s her brother. Niall! That’s it. He’s Harry’s band mate. I looked at him curiously. “What are you doing here?” I asked.

“Helping Kelsey out where I can…” he shrugged.

                “Oh?”

“Yeah, like I said she’s not been well.”

“I think I already knew that.”

                “Oh?”

“I ran into her and that uh… other blond guy at the airport.”

“Right. Paris mentioned seeing you there. I don’t think Kelsey would exactly welcome you right now….”

                “Why?” I asked curiously.

“Well for starters you pretty much destroyed her when you over reacted to her being Harry’s sister.” he said calmly.

Did everyone know about that already? “She’s just got a lot on her plate right now. Maybe another time when the case is resolved?” Niall said after a minute of silence.

“I just want to see her. I don’t care if she gets mad at me again.”

“Trust me; you don’t want to make her mad.”

“Why? She’s never had anger issues before.”

“Well, she’s changed since America.” he said quietly.

“Like how?” I asked, folding my arms.

                “It’s none of your business.”

“Ni? Who are you talking to?” Kelsey asked from the other side of the wall.

He seemed to hesitate. “Jackson.” he said softly to her.

She walked around the corner and held to his arm. That’s why he was there. They were dating. Should have seen that one coming. “What do you want, Jackson?” she asked.

“I just wanted to make sure you were okay… You didn’t seem yourself when I saw you at the airport.” I said, looking her in the eyes.

Something was different about the look in her eyes. It was almost as if the joy had all but been sucked out of her. That was it. She wasn’t happy and I bet it was because this guy was making her be his girlfriend. “I’m fine, Jackson. Or at least I will be when the case is resolved.” she said quietly.

“What do you? Why aren’t you fine now?” I asked worriedly.

“It’s just stress. When it’s over I’ll be better. I promise. Please, just let us be for now. I’ll let you know the outcome when I know it.” she said, yawning.

She must have been in bed and heard Niall closing the door behind me. “You should go back to bed, Kels.” I said softly, watching her.

They weren’t telling me something and I was going to find out what it was if it was the last thing I did. She nodded and kissed Niall’s cheek before trudging back up stairs.  “Okay so no joy in her eyes. She’s tired as fuck and she looks like she has to hold her pajamas to her body to keep them up. What the hell is going on with her?” I whispered to him.

“Insomnia for the tired. Depression for the joyless. Underweight for the clothes.” he said quietly, looking at the floor. “I’m doing everything I can to help her. But other than making sure she takes her medicine, there isn’t much else I can do.”

“Make her meals? Hold her until she falls asleep? Give her something to be happy about? You can do all of that. You just don’t do it.” I scowled. “Worthless.”

“Hey! Don’t talk to Niall like that!” the brunette boy, Harry, said.

“I’ll talk to him how ever I want. Where the hell are her friends? Kathleen and my sister?”

“They aren’t here. They aren’t welcome and neither are you. Get out.” Harry said angrily, walking towards me.

I didn’t hesitate to move towards him. “No. That’s my girl up there. I’m not leaving until I know she’s better.” I growled.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned. It was third guy. He was taller than me and had his ears pierced. “He said to get out. I recommend you do as he says unless you want to be visiting a police station.” he said.

Another one of the band boys I assumed. “Oh? And what’s to say you aren’t holding her hostage?” I rose my eyebrow.

“The fact that she lives here.” Niall pointed out.

“Shut it, blondie! No one asked you!” I spat at him.

“Don’t. Talk. To. Niall. Like. That.” a fourth voice said.

Great. They were going to gang bang me. “Just get out.” a fifth voice said.

Must have been Louis and Liam. They were the only ones missing assuming the one in front of me was Zayn. I rolled my eyes and stood my ground. I felt a pair of hands grab my shirt and pull me into their chest. He didn’t seem fazed when I pulled my fist back and punched him. Only then did I realize it was Niall. Kelsey was going to kill me when she found out.

I struggled to get out of his grip only to end up in Zayn’s grip. Fuck. I was going to die. He pulled me outside before he threw me back into the car I had rented. “Get out of here! Don’t come back!” he shouted.

I groaned as my spin landed against the side mirror. That was going to hurt in the morning. He didn’t seem to realize that I wasn’t moving. The guy just stood there with his arms crossed, waiting for me to leave. After a few minutes I pushed myself up and got in the car, not hesitating to flip him off before I left.

I had nothing to keep me in London anymore. Kelsey hated me, or at least she would when she found out I gave her boyfriend a black eye.
