It’s been a year since Emily died. I was sitting at home with Harry and Niall watching TV when Landon called again. “Hello?” I said softly.

“Miss Styles, it’s been a while.” he said.

His voice seemed to be happy for the first time since the case started. “You sound happy… Why are you happy?” I asked.

“I’m happy because the case has finally been closed!” he told me.

                “Really!?”

“It would appear that the gun in question was indeed a gun stolen from your host family and that it was not used.”

                “Then how did she die?”

“It would appear that she drank some kind of tea that she was severally allergic to and it killed her.” he told me.

                “Then what about the gun?”

“Someone in England really doesn’t like you.”

“That’s not news to me.” I muttered.

“Your friend, Kathleen, is to be released later this evening.” he informed me.

                “Super.” I said sourly.

                “Not a friend?”

                “I don’t even know anymore.”

“Well, then I suppose I need to talk to Mr. Sheeran about someone picking her up from the station.”

“I suppose you do.” I agreed.

“If you’ll excuse me.” he said and disconnected.

Harry and Niall were both looking at me curiously. “What was that?” Harry asked.

“Oh you know… My private investigator…” I grinned.

“What’d he say!?” he asked, grabbing my shoulders and shaking me lightly. “The anticipation is sooooo heavy!!!!” he shrieked playfully.

“Case closed.” I laughed as my head bobbed while he shook my shoulders.

                “What happened? Tell me!”

“She was killed by a cup of tea she was allergic to.”

“It took them a year to figure that out?” Niall asked.

“Apparently so. The gun was planted as a frame up.”

“How were your prints on it?” Harry asked.

“It belonged to my host family in America. My host father showed it to me and I picked it up so my prints were on it.”

“But you never shot it?” he asked.

                “Not once.” I promised.

“Good girl.” he laughed and hugged me.

I hugged him back tightly and closed my eyes. “Kathleen is being released later today.” I muttered as an afterthought.

“But you don’t care?” he asked.

“I don’t know.” I admitted. “Can we just go to Nandos?”

“YES!” Niall grinned and bolted up.

He held his hands out for mine and smiled. I laughed and took his hands. “Come on, Harreh!” I smiled and held out a hand for my brother.

He took it gently and stood, wrapping an arm around my shoulders while Niall wrapped his arm around my waist. I smiled and put my arms around them as we walked out the door sideways, laughing. Paris and Westley were standing outside, leaning against their car talking quietly, fingers intertwined. “Aww! You’re just too cute!” I giggled and hid my face behind Niall’s back.

The two of them could be heard laughing while Harry laughed and picked me up bridal style. “Can we steal this car for a while?” Niall asked Westley.

I smiled up to my brother who smiled back. I’d been taken of the depression medicine about month before and the bipolar medicine about two weeks before that. I was happy again and I didn’t know what would happen if I let Kathleen and Rebekka back into my life. I guess we’d find out if and when that happened. After all… I’d let Jackson back into my life… even after he’d given my boyfriend a black eye. He’d done it because he cared out me.

While I don’t condone that fact he hurt Niall, I still had to admit, he had actually done it because he was worried about me and they weren’t giving him a very easy time…
