Chp 6. Concerns

"Nyaaa!" Kai shouted as he slurred his speech. Nya turned away from the screen and looks at Kai. "What is it now? I'm watching over the ninja right now." She spoke, clearly annoyed with her brother. Kai pauses for a moment before shrugging. "I forgot, because I'm bored." He happily responded with a cheeky grin. She sighs as he turned back to the screen. "This is why you aren't going on the mission. You're just not functioning right." Nya says.

"Whats?! I so am functioning right in a very functional, rightful way!" Kai exclaimed as he stood up. He give his sister a glare, that she doesn't see. "Yeah, totally. I believe you." Nya sarcastically replied as she was still watching the screen. "Ah, good." Kai proudly says as he sat make down. He looks out the window seeing the dark night sky filled with twinkling stars. "Kai, I was being sarcastic." Nya spoke up. "Oh, aw." Kai muttered.

"Maybe you should go to sleep, that might help you get over the venom." Nya says as she turned back to her brother. She walked away from the screen and went to Kai. "What? I'm not a baby I don't need a bedtime!" Kai whines. "No Kai, I'm not saying that. I'm saying you should go to bed. Not saying that you need a bedtime." Nya responded.

Kai looks suspiciously at his sister. "You for real?" He asks. Nya groans before pulling her brother out of the chair he sat on. "Yes, I am!" She answered. "But I'm not tired!" Kai whines once more. "Ugh, Kai I'm not fighting you with this. Bed now." Nya spoke not wanting to start a argument. She pushes Kai to move out the control room but Kai just pushes back to stay still.

Nya continues to try to push Kai out of the control room. But he still refused to move. "Kai! Come on!" She shouted at her brother. Kai just stands while his sister still attempts to push him. After a couple minutes of doing Nya finally stops. "Fine, be that way. Just leave me alone then I have ninja to watch over." Nya says as she headed back to the screen. Kai girns to himself about what he had just achieved.

Kai should hear his sister talking with someone, probably the rest of his team. What were they up to on the mission? Were they already heading back? He got a little closer to Nya and screen hoping to hear more.

"What? Could you repeat that, maybe a little louder too?" Nya asks. "W-we are- tied up! Could y-   send Kai!" Cole brokenly spoke through the communicator. Nya glanced over to where Kai was once sitting at, then she noticed him standing much closer to her. He was slightly wobbling. She turned back to the screen and then spoke to the communicator.

"I don't think he's quite ready. I could help you guys." Nya says as she muttered the last bit. There was a long pause from the reat of the ninja. "Are you guys still there?" Nya asks. "Yeah, i-it's just that-    -ell. Kai-    -more experience w-with this kind of stuff, and you don't." Cole's broken voice says from the communicator. "And!-   don't thin-  Kai  -ould like you coming  -to battle!" Jay piped in through the communicator.

Nya sighs, she turned over to her brother. "Your teammates want you to save them, like the damsel in distress they are." Nya says, her face clearly annoyed with the ninja. "Really?" Kai spoke up, a happy grin appearing on his face. Nya just nods her head. Kai runs put the control room joyfully. "Yeah!" He cheered to himself before he tripped and fell. He slightly groans in pain as he got back up.

"Kai, you forgot your sword." Nya shouted from the control room. "Oh yeah! Whoops!" Kai exclaimed back as he ran back into the room. "Don't you worry, I got this Nya." He says as he grabs the Sword of Fire as he ran off again.

Lloyd sleeps peacefully in the alleyway, or as peaceful as he could. He always get waken up from some metallic sound nearby or hearing the not so quiet whispers of someone. It's was truly obnoxious.

By now it's was maybe almost midnight? Who knows. And he's been unable to sleep, sure all the distractions seemed to stop bit he just couldn't go back to sleep. So here he was, the son of the dark lord, trying to fall asleep in some crappy alleyway. Lloyd groans as he kicked his feet down to the ground. "Stupid everything!" Lloyd whines as only the silence of the night responds.

The child remains sitting the ground for a couple of minutes, his body was just so tired but he wasn't. It was like he was fully alive in a decaying corpse. Only if the night could be quiet so he could sleep. Thud. Great, more noise, more reasons to he couldn't sleep.

"Wow! This is so cool!" Lloyd hears a familiar voice basically shoot. "Jay! Quiet, citizens are sleeping!" Another familiar voice shot at Jay. The Ninja Lloyd thought, of course they'd be here. "Both of you stay quiet. We just need to find serpentine, defeat them and return to the Bounty." Lloyd hear Zane speak in a voice he could barely hear.

What were they even doing here? The blonde weakly gets up, his feet dragged against the cement as he looked for the Ninja in the maze of a alleyway. Finally he finds them, they were standing at the end of the alleyway, staring up at the skyscrapers.

"So, were are the serpentine exactly?" Cole muttered as he slowly looked downwards to face his teammates. Jay just shrugged his shoulders, not bothering to stop admiring the city's skyscrapers. "Well, didn't Nya say something about the tombs all being connected under the city?" Zane questions. No one says anything, it was quite sad.

Lloyd decided to move more closer to ninja, he was certainly curious on what they were doing. He tugged his legs to move only to end up triping on his own feet.

The child falls to the ground and groans in pain. He looks up to see the three Ninja staring at him, clearly confused. "Lloyd?!" Jay blurted out. "What are you doing out here?" The blue ninja adds. Lloyd's face scrunched up, he wasn't pleased with the event he put himself in. "None of your business, Ninja." The child harshly spoke to the Ninja. Cole began to slowly walk closer to him.

"Hey, it's okay we're not going to hurt you. We just want to know at least how you got here." The black ninja calmly spoke, his voice soft and wanting to bring comfort. Lloyd hisses at him as he stands back up.

Jay flinched back, shocked and scared. "Did he just hiss?! We need to run, like now; because I swear he's going to start bitting and he'll give us rabies!!" He cried out. "Jay! Shut up, he's literally the son of Garmadon what do you expect? Now just let me calm him down and we can maybe have Nya to get the bounty here to pick him up." Cole responded, trying to relax his teammate.

Jay nervously chuckles before speaking up. "Nope." The blue ninja speed walks away in a different direction. Cole watches him leave before turning to Zane and telling him to go get him.

"You don't seem like a very stable leader, weres the red one? Did he leave because of your poor leadership." Lloyd casually comments with a sinister grin. Cole stares at Lloyd.

"You don't get to say anything. Just answer my question." The black Ninja replied. The blonde shakes his head. "You will." Cole said clearly not wanting to argue. The blonde just shakes his head again.

"Fine, whatever." Cole spoke as he rolled his eyes. "You give up too easily, that's stupid." Lloyd says as he starts to chuckles. The balck ninja looks away from him. "Everything is just a game to you isn't it?" He says as he watches Zane drag a squirming Jay back. "No duh.-" Lloyd yawns. "-Of course especially with you and the other dumb ninja." The child says between weak giggles.

"Zane please! I don't want to be near it again!" Jay whined, trying to pull himself and Zane to the opposite direction. Zane just continues to pull Jay back. "Im not a it!" Lloyd snarled.

Soon Jay and Zane we back to standing next to Cole. The black ninja takes a deep breath before speaking to his teammates. "What should we do with the kid, like he's a mess. Plus probably living on the streets." Cole spoke softy, not wanting Lloyd to hear.

"Sell him?" Jay spoke. Cole and Zane turned to the blue ninja. "That's too far." Zane mutters. "What?! I was joking!" Jay exclaimed, he raised his hands up defensively. "Poor timing, Jay." Cole commented. "Shut up." The blue ninja snapped.

Lloyd begins to watch them argue, although it was just Jay and Cole snapping crappy insults at each other. As if it was comical enough Zane just awkwardly stood near them as they fought. Maybe too funny, Lloyd's vision grew darker until he felt his own body fall as he only sees black.
