The week flew by in a haze of classes, band practice, a brief conversations with Aiko about their weekend plans. Every day, Y/N found herself thinking more and more about her upcoming hangout with Iwaizumi. She couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to spend time with him outside of school. She'd seen him on the volleyball court—focused, intense, and serious—but what was he like off the court? Relaxed? Funny? She had no idea, but she was eager to find out.

Finally, Saturday arrived. After a morning of finishing homework and running through her songs for the last time, Y/N found herself nervously getting ready for her afternoon with Iwaizumi. She had debated for far too long over what to wear but settled on something casual—a simple, comfy outfit that felt like her.

As she was putting the finishing touches on her outfit, there was a knock on her bedroom door. "Come in," Y/N called, expecting her little brother.

Instead, her mom and dad entered, both wearing knowing smiles.

"Heading out somewhere special today?" her mom asked, leaning against the doorframe with a teasing glint in her eye.

Y/N smiled nervously. "I'm just meeting up with a friend."

Her dad raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "A friend, huh? Does this 'friend' happen to play volleyball?"

Y/N's face turned pink as she quickly realized where this conversation was going. "Maybe," she mumbled, trying to brush it off.

Her mom grinned, stepping further into the room. "Well, considering that Aoba Johsai is known for its powerhouse volleyball team, I can't say I'm surprised."

Her dad chuckled. "So, does this volleyball player have a name?"

Y/N hesitated, glancing at her reflection in the mirror as if trying to gather her composure. She could feel the heat rising in her cheeks, but there was no way out now. "It's... Iwaizumi."

Her parents exchanged looks of mild surprise before their grins widened.

"Iwaizumi, huh?" her dad said with a playful smirk. "Isn't he one of the top players on the team?"

Y/N groaned, covering her face with her hands. "Can we not make this a big deal, please? We're just hanging out."

Her mom laughed softly, placing a hand on Y/N's shoulder. "Alright, alright. We're just teasing. It's just nice to see you spending time with new people. And if he's a volleyball player, well, that's a bonus."

Her dad grinned. "Well, have fun then. And don't worry, we won't tease you too much when you get back."

Y/N rolled her eyes but laughed. "Thanks, Dad. I appreciate that."

With her parents' teasing smiles still lingering in her mind, Y/N grabbed her bag and headed downstairs. Her little brother was already by the door, tying his sneakers, ready to head out for his own plans. He shot her a knowing look.
