Danielle Shay made it into roll call at the same time as John. She sat down in between Lucy and Jackson as John sat on the other side of Lucy.
"All right, all right. Settle down." Grey said, cleaning the whiteboard before turning to face everyone sat in the room.
"So, okay, we got some new blood this morning. And some pushing the expiration date." He said, laughter erupted in the room.
"Get up." Grey motioned for them to stand as he walked past them.
The four rookies stood up and turned to face Grey, straightening their posture and holding their heads high as he paused and looked back at them.
"After six months together in the academy, you've earned the right to be here. But you'll have to prove yourself to stay. The way we do things matters. Protocol and tradition are the metal from which every cop in this city is forged. Understand?" He asked.
"Yes, sir." John said whilst Danielle, Lucy and Jackson nodded.
"Sit down." Grey ordered.
The four of them sat back down. Grey made his way back to the front of the room.
"It's time to play the Training Officer match game. Our contestants are... Lucy Chen, a hotshot who made her first arrest before clocking in for work. Legacy Jackson West, who broke all his dad's records at the academy. Danielle Shay, a British real life Disney Princess." Grey said.
Danielle frowned. She had been called a princess most of her life for the way she lived her life and her personality but mainly because of her looks. She knew she looked like a disney princess whether she believed it or not because that was her main nickname in school and she hated it.
And Danielle thought that Grey didn't really need to say 'British' because people would know as soon as she opened her mouth because her accent is that strong.
"And John Nolan, who was born before disco died." Grey finished, causing laughter to fill the room.
"And the winners are... Officer Bradford, you get our hotshot. Officer Lopez, you get our legacy. Officer Mitchell, you get our Disney Princess." Grey said.
Danielle turned in her chair and looked over at the T.O.'s and made eye contact with Janelle Mitchell who sent her a wink. Danielle blushed slightly and turned back to face the front of the room.
"Leaving Officer Bishop to ride with the forty-year-old rookie. Now, hear me. Today is your first day. Don't let it be your last. Forget the academy and listen to your T.O.'s. They'll teach you the way it should be done." Grey said.
Angela raised her hand in the air once Grey finished talking.
"Officer Lopez?" Grey questioned.
"Any chance i can fill out a report for a new rookie?" Angela asked, lowering her hand.
"Why?" Grey asked, eyebrows furrowed together.
"'Cause i want the disney princess." Angela said.
"No, She's my rookie, go get your own." Janelle said.
