Chapter 6 Love In The Dark

Cooper and Bella are laying in bed after their cordial encounter. Bella lays her head on Cooper's sturdy chest. Cooper puts her arm around her, while Bella glows with pure bliss. "You know I don't even know how old you are." stated Bella in a humorous but yet curious tone. Bella looks up at Cooper who begins to chuckle. "You never asked." replied Cooper in a smartass tone. Bella smacks Cooper's chest playfully as a reaction. "I turn 30 in a month." answered Cooper. Bella, surprised by his response, rolls over her naked body on top of Cooper's. "Is that a problem?" asked Cooper in a confident tone. Bella just smiles "No, not at all cowboy." she says before leaning in to kiss him. Bella gets out of bed to go look out the window in Cooper's loft. As the storm seemed to be slowed, she sighs while Cooper watches her from his bed. "You need to get going soon." said Cooper as he leans to the edge of the bed to sit while the sheet covers his private area.

"I wish I could stay." Bella replies while she goes to sit across Cooper's legs seductively. Cooper kisses Bella's cheek as Bella appears to become distraught. "What's wrong cutie?" asked Cooper, curious as to why the sour look on Bella's face. "I want this, us, but I'm afraid we have to be smart about this." stated Bella. Cooper pulls Bella's face towards his as they touch foreheads. Cooper looks into Bella's eyes fiercely , " guess we will keep our love in the dark for the meanwhile." said Cooper trying to encourage Bella. Bella smiles as they kiss passionately one more time. "I should get going." said Bella as she began getting dressed, Coopers found a pair of jeans as he began pulling them up. "Want me to walk you home?" he asked, trying to be a gentleman. Bella places his hand playfully on his face. "What happened to love in the dark." Bella said jokingly. Cooper just smiles as Bella begins walking down the wooden stairs exiting Cooper's view. Bella opens the barn door and ventures out into the dying storm, as a gust of wind sweeps her hair she gracefully looks back to see Cooper watching from his loft window. Bella blows him a kiss as she ventures off into the night back to the manor.

After the long walk she sneaks up to where she climbed down and begins climbing up to her balcony. She gracefully climbs up and onto the balcony before entering her room. She goes to run herself a bath, while the water is running she hears a knock at her door. "Bella sweetie, it's your dad." said Marcos cautiously on the other side of the door. Bella quickly puts on a robe to make it seem like her father is about to interrupt her bath. Bella opens the door slowly, only exposing half of her face. "Can I come in?" Macos asked Bella, trying to be polite. "No dad sorry I was about to get in the bath." replied Bella like she was trying to end this conversation as soon as possible. Marcos gains a rather curious look about himself as he notices Bellas hair is wet. "Why is your hair wet then?" asked Marcos in an investigative tone, shit I forgot to dry my hair, Bella said in her mind as she looked upon her father standing there awaiting her response with intriguing interest. "I meant I was in the bath when you knocked dad." said Bella as she waits for her father's body language and facial expression to change. Marcos smiles crookedly at Bella before saying "Of course, look I just want to apologize about my actions earlier today... (sighs) I've just been under so much stress lately and I over reacted...." says Marcos as he tries to explain his actions some more before Bella cuts him off. "It's okay daddy, I understand I forgive you."

Marcos sighs with relief and smiles before saying goodnight and turns to walk down the hallway away from Bella's bedroom. Bella closes her door and locks it as she proceeds to her bathtub which is now full of steamy hot water. As she soaks into the tub she closes her eyes replaying the actions that just occurred between her and Cooper. Her mind plays over what he said over and over again in her wandering mind. Love in the dark the words the left Cooper lips ring in her ears, before she opens her eyes and smiles devilishly. Over the next few weeks, Bella and Cooper would find ways to consummate their shackled love of passion for one another, anywhere, any time, and any chance they could fuck and get away with it they did. Everything was going as planned until...

Bella awakens one morning to the sound of chaos rumbling and sounds from outside the house. She gets out of bed and proceeds to her balcony to investigate the commotion. Her eyes widened with shock to see at least a dozen men dressed in tactical gear all holding rifles. Bella immediately gets dressed to go downstairs where she sees her father giving instruction to at least 6 more bodyguards in their home. "Nothing comes in, nothing goes out, you understand." Marcos orders a group of thuggish looking bodyguards. What the fuck is going on? Bella says in her mind, she cautiously walks to the bottom of the stairs, where her father sees her and goes to hug her. "I'm glad your awake sweetheart." said Marcos while gracefully hugging his daughter, Bella looks around seeing all these men with weapons taking post everywhere in the home. "What's going on dad?" asked Bella with dubious curiosity, Marcos let's go to his embrace of Bella glazing slightly into her blueish eyes. Anyone could tell that Marcos appears distraught trying to find a way to explain to his daughter without giving too much away. "It's just some extra precaution." replied Marcos in a tone one would use if they were trying to tell a convincing lie. "Best thing you can do is stay in this house at all times, just until things cool down." said Marcos, as Bella's mind begins wondering what the hell has her father gotten into. Bella proceeds back upstairs where she sees two new guards posted in the hallway near her bedroom. One of the guards opens her bedroom as Bella nervously walks into her room. What in the actual fuck is happening... Bella's inner mind says as she goes out to her balcony to see guards posted all around the exterior of her home. Even amidst the chaos all Bella can think about is how will her and Cooper see each other now, and how will they continue keeping their love in the dark.
