Rain pours the next morning matching the dark tension surrounding the vineyard. Bella awakens in her bed with a black eye. She rolls out of bed to view herself in the mirror, noticing the damage to her face, given to her from her father. She places her hand on her cheek to inspect the damage, before looking into the mirror angrily. She bolts towards the door only to find that it's been barred from the outside. She goes to her balcony only to see guards at the bottom standing proactively. It sinks in, that she's a prisoner in her own home, a feeling she's all too familiar with but this time it's different. Bella hears her door open from the balcony only to see Raul enter with breakfast.
"Raul, what's going on?" asked Bella
Raul sets the breakfast platter down and sighs deeply.
"Miss Bella I'm afraid your room has been barred and you're not allowed to leave. Your fathers orders." Raul explains with a saddened tone.
Raul turns and heads to exit the room.
"Please Raul, this isn't right and you know it." cries Bella
Raul stops at the door turning his head towards Bella.
"I know Miss Bella, but I'm afraid I can't help." replies Raul before exiting the door and the sounds of locks clanking on the outside of Bella door sends chills of pure defeat down her spine.
Bella falls to her knees cupping her face with her hands as she begins crying uncontrollably. She tantrums and begins tossing her room apart. She screams and yells, before noticing a note hidden inside the platter of food. Bella grabs it curiously, as she opens and reads it.
Miss Bella, I'm saddened to see you go through this. I basically helped raise you since you were born and I'm doing everything I can to help you. Stay strong and await further instructions, I will keep putting notes inside your food platters. I've been instructed to bring you three a day, this will be our only time to communicate. Be careful they are listening!
Bella clinches the note and begins looking around her room. There is no way this room is bugged, she thought. Bella looks all around her torn up room, searching inch by inch. She becomes exhausted having looked everywhere, she sits on the edge of her bed next to the nightstand where the picture of her and her mother is. She grabs it looking for hope when all of a sudden she feels something weird on the back of the frame. She turns it around to investigate, opening the back of the frame and finding a wire. Son of a bitch she says silently, as she can't even comprehend how long this has been.
Bella now knows that she must be silent or far away enough to where this tiny microphone wire couldn't pick up what she was saying. She grabs some loose leaf paper and a pen from the floor and proceeds to her bathroom. She turns on the faucet on the sink just in case there was another wire placed in the bathroom the running water would muddle the sound. Bella begins writing a note.
Raul send word to Cooper, tell him I'm sorry for what happened but I refuse to give up. I love you Cooper and all I want is to be with you. Raul there must be a way for me to get out of this house. If so, make preparations for me. I await further instructions and Cooper, don't quit my love I will continue to fight for our love. Even if it's in secret like this. XoXO Bella...
Bella turns off the faucet and folds up the note. She grabs the food and begins eating, she knows that she must make it look like she's actually eating and playing the part. She can't give them any suspicion. Once she clears a portion of the plate, she hides the note under the leftover food. Now all that's left to do is wait for her next meal.
